The internationally acclaimed Japanese pianist performs a selection
of pieces with the Russian conductor Valery Gergiev at the White
Nights Festival, Saint Petersburg in 2012. The compositions
performed are: Tchaikovsky: Piano Concerto No.1; Shostakovich:
Symphony No.14; Tsujii: 'Elegy for the Victims of the Earthquake
and the Tsunami of March 11, 2011'.
András Schiff plays Franz Schubert's Impromptus Op.90 D.899, Op.142
D.935 and Moments Musicaux Op.94 D.78, in a recital recorded in
1989.
After 50 years as pianist with the Beaux Arts Trio, Menahem
Pressler returns to a solo career, here performing a recital of
works by Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy and Schubert at the Cité de la
Musique, Paris, in March 2011.

Daniel Barenboim gives a virtuoso performance of Franz Liszt's
Années de pčlerinage and the Piano Sonata in B minor, recorded at
the Haus Wahnfried, Bayreuth in 1985. The set also includes
transcriptions of Wagner and Verdi operas recorded at the
Markgräfliches Opernhaus in the same year.
French pianist Adam Laloum performs a selection of works by
Schumann, Debussy, Schubert, and Brahms live at Switzerland's
Verbier Festival in 2010.
The legendary pianist recorded live at the Verbier Festival in 2009
and 2010. Accompanied by David Geurrier on trumpet, featured works
include Beethoven's 'Piano Concerto No.2 in B-flat Major, Op.19',
Scarlatti's 'Sonata in D Minor', Shostakovich's 'Piano Concerto
No.1 in C Minor, Op.35', and Bizet's 'Symphony in C Major'. Gábor
Takács-Nagy conducts the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra.

internationally famous when he was very young. CONCERT MAGIC, the
very first concert film produced by and for Hollywood, was made
when Menuhin was at the pinnacle of his fame, at a fresh-faced 32
years of age. Directed by Paul Gordon, it features the musician
performing some of his favorite classical works. He is joined by
the Symphony Orchestra of Hollywood, conducted by Antal Dorati.
