verloofde, Melodramatix, het as legioensoldaat in Afrika soek
geraak.

October 2022 Indie Bestseller New York Times-bestselling author
Claribel A. Ortega and star debut artist Rose Bousamra's Frizzy is
about Marlene, a young Dominican girl whose greatest enemy is the
hair salon! Through her struggles and triumphs, this heartwarming
and gorgeous middle-grade graphic novel shows the radical power of
accepting yourself as you are, frizzy curls and all. Marlene loves
three things: books, her cool Tia Ruby and hanging out with her
best friend Camila. But according to her mother, Paola, the only
thing she needs to focus on is school and "growing up." That means
straightening her hair every weekend so she could have
"presentable", "good hair". But Marlene hates being in the salon
and doesn't understand why her curls are not considered pretty by
those around her. With a few hiccups, a dash of embarrassment, and
the much-needed help of Camila and Tia Ruby--she slowly starts a
journey to learn to appreciate and proudly wear her curly hair.
Genius Kid is back with his best friend and neighbour Flea to tackle the humongous subject of . . . VIRUSES!
From the techy kind of virus that shut down computer mainframes and brings total panic.
To the going viral global fame type of virus (that also creates total panic).
To the snotty variety of virus which creates a different sort of Must-go-to-bed now sort of panic . . .
Luckily GK and Flea are here to explain everything and nothing at all in the way that only they can! Here's hoping that they go viral too . . .
In this modern reimagining of Anne of Green Gables, effervescent
extrovert Dan Stewart-Álvarez is surprised to find home and community
in rural Tennessee.
Despite a life on the road with his free-spirited mother,
fifteen-year-old Dan Stewart-Álvarez has always wanted to settle down.
He just didn’t think it’d be like this: with his mother abandoning him
in rural Tennessee with two strangers—his gentle grandmother and
conservative, rough-around-the-edges grandfather. Here, he is forced to
adjust to working the farm, entering high school, and hardest
yet—reckoning with his queerness in a severe Southern Baptist community.
But even as Dan grows closer to his mawmaw, befriends fellow outsiders
at school, and tries to make a new life for himself in Green Gables, he
has to discover whether he can contend with intolerance and adapt to
change without losing himself in the process.
From award-winning author Rey Terciero and Eisner Award nominee and
illustrator Claudia Aguirre comes a new retelling of Anne of Green
Gables about unconventional families, queer identity, and finding the
meaning of home in the most unlikely of places.
