The Hollow Tree and Deep Woods Book was first published in 1898 as a children's book of short stories by Albert Bigelow Paine. They are charming stories about Mr Dog, who battles with the residents of the Hollow Tree: Mr Coon, Mr Possum and the Old Black Crow, but in the end they become friends. This book has twenty-eight stories, and comes with beautiful illustrations by J. M. Cond .
