Books > Children's Fiction & Fun > Fairy Tales, Folk Tales, Fables, Magical Tales & Traditional Stories
This unusual book contains the poems from the Alice books set to
music by Lucy E Broadwood. This delightful book was originally
published in 1921 and the scores are decorated by the incredible
colour plates and line work of Charles Folkard. Pook Press
celebrates the great Golden Age of Illustration in children's
literature and are reprinting this book for adults and children to
enjoy once again. About the Author: Charles Dodgson (1832-1898) is
best known by his pseudonym Lewis Carroll. A polymath who is
arguably best known as an author, but who also worked as a
mathematician, logician, Anglican deacon and photographer, his most
famous works are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and the sequel
Alice Through the Looking-Glass. Dodgson was a prolific writer who
contributed children's stories, mathematical theses and political
pamphlets to a variety of magazines.

The Banbury Cross Series was a collection of 12 volumes of books
edited by Grace Rhys and published in London by Dent in the 1890s.
Each book is attractively illustrated with full page and partial
page pen and ink drawings in a classic Art Nouveau style by leading
artists of the era. H. Isabel Adams was chosen to illustrated
Little Red Riding Hood and Tom Thumb. Her black and white pen and
ink drawings are full of emotion and magnificently complement Rhys'
adaptations of these children's favourites. Many of the earliest
children's books, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and
before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive. Pook
Press are working to republish these classic works in affordable,
high quality editions, using the original text and artwork so these
works can delight another generation of children.
In a blink of an eye, four best friends all get their biggest wish—they’re whisked off to Never Land, home to Tinker Bell and her fairy friends.
A great gift for readers ages 6-10, this attractive box contains four Never Girls adventures:
- Wedding Wings
- The Woods Beyond
- A Pinch of Magic
- Far from Shore
