Paul McGrath documentary focussing on John and Yoko's famous 'Bed-In for peace' at the Queen Elisabeth Hotel, Montreal in May and June 1969. After spending their honeymoon conducting the first of their anti-Vietnam war Bed-Ins at the Amsterdam Hilton, John and Yoko decided to try to repeat the process in another location. Refused entry to the U.S. on a visa violation, they subsequently tried the Bahamas, but finding the heat oppressive, finally settled on Montreal. Exploring how the elements of the event came together, McGrath interviews various people who were present, among others, Yoko Ono, the comedian Tom Smothers, and a variety of journalists and music industry figures. Also included is an interview with Andre Perry, who helped produce the subsequent 'Give Peace A Chance' single, the live recording of which is captured in the film. Among bonus features included are press and TV interviews conducted with John and Yoko in December 1969, the 'Give Peace A Chance' video featuring Eric Clapton, and an interview with singer Petula Clark, who visited the pair during their stay.
A fantasy adventure from the prehistoric times. Raquel Welch and John Richardson fight for their love and their lives against the dinosaurs (brought to life by Ray Harryhausen's ground-breaking effects).
Adventure starring Helen Slater. On a desperate mission to save Planet Earth, Supergirl (Slater), must retrieve a missing life-giving power source to save her home city from total destruction. Startled by her own amazing Superpowers, Supergirl traces the lost Omegahedron only to discover that it has fallen into the hands of the rapacious Selena (Faye Dunaway) who unleashes untold horrors to thwart her young adversary.
Roald Dahl's modern classic for children becomes a delightful combination of live action and stop-motion animation by the team that made The Nightmare Before Christmas: director Henry Selick and producers Tim Burton (Batman) and Denise Di Novi. The story concerns young James (played for real and through voice-overs by Paul Terry), who is orphaned and left in the charge of two cruel aunts (Miriam Margolyes, Joanna Lumley). Rescued by a mysterious fellow (Pete Postlethwaite), James ends up inside a giant peach, drifting over the Atlantic Ocean in the company of a gentleman grasshopper (voiced by Simon Callow), a fast-talking centipede (Richard Dreyfuss), an anxious earthworm (David Thewlis), a matronly ladybug (Jane Leeves), and a sexy spider (Susan Sarandon). The collection of actors and their creepy-crawly alter egos are a delight, especially when some of the song-and-dance numbers (tunes are written by Randy Newman) get everyone going. --Tom Keogh
Director Richard Lester (A Hard Day's Night) took over the franchise with this first sequel in the series, though the film doesn't look much like his usual stylish work. (Superman III is far more Lesteresque.) Still, there is a lot to like about this movie, which finds Superman grappling with the conflict between his responsibilities as Earth's savior and his own needs of the heart. Choosing the latter, he gives up his powers to be with Lois Lane (Margot Kidder), but the timing is awful: three renegades from his home planet, Krypton, are smashing up the White House, aided by the mocking Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman). The film isn't nearly as ambitious as its predecessor, but the accent on relationships over special effects (not that there aren't plenty of them) is very satisfying. --Tom Keogh
Disney's animated sci-fi version of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic adventure tale 'Treasure Island'. When he is given a star map with directions to a remote planet where space pirates store their treasure, Jim Hawkins realises this is his chance to embark on a life of adventure and signs himself up as a crew member on the spaceship R.L.S. Legacy. The Legacy soon blasts off in search of the Treasure Planet, but it is not long before rumours of mutiny begin to spread, with the part-cyborg Long John Silver leading the way.
Three modern-day "witches" yearn for Mr. Right in a New England town. Is the arrival of wealthy and irresistible Daryl Van Home a coincidence - or the women's unconscious sorcery at work? Based on John Updike's bestseller, The Witches of Eastwick is a star-bright otherworldly delight.
Following a harrowing night of demonic possession and slapstick antics in Evil Dead 2, unassuming store clerk Ash is time-warped into England's Dark Ages, where he must find the Necronomicon, a compendium of the black arts, before he can return home. Fortunately, he has time to romance a beautiful princess, tune up his chainsaw hand, and battle an army of skeletons led by...himself.
There are growing dangers in the wizarding world of 1926 New York. Something mysterious is leaving a path of destruction in the streets, threatening to expose the wizarding community to the No-Majs (American for Muggles), including the Second Salemers, a fanatical faction bent on eradicating them and the powerful, dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald, after wreaking havoc in Europe, has slipped away…and is now nowhere to be found. Unaware of the rising tensions, Newt Scamander arrives in the city nearing the end of a global excursion to research and rescue magical creatures, some of which are safeguarded in the magical hidden dimensions of his deceptively nondescript leather case. But potential disaster strikes when unsuspecting No-Maj Jacob Kowalski inadvertently lets some of Newt’s beasts loose in a city already on edge—a serious breach of the Statute of Secrecy that former Auror Tina Goldstein jumps on, seeing her chance to regain her post as an investigator. However, things take an ominous turn when Percival Graves, the enigmatic Director of Magical Security at MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), casts his suspicions on both Newt…and Tina. Now allied, Newt and Tina, together with Tina’s sister, Queenie, and their new No-Maj friend, Jacob, form a band of unlikely heroes, who must recover Newt’s missing beasts before they come to harm. But the stakes are higher than these four outsiders—now branded fugitives—ever imagined, as their mission puts them on a collision course with dark forces that could push the wizarding and No-Maj worlds to the brink of war.

Unexplained anomalies are ripping holes in the fabric of time, allowing creatures from the past, and the future, to roam the modern world. Not knowing where the next anomaly will appear and what on earth will come out of it, the government grudgingly turns to evolutionary zoologist Nick Cutter and his team of experts in ARC - Anomaly Research Centre. As the ARC team fight to save Earth from rampaging dinosaurs and deadly future predators, their work creates its own enemies, those eager to sabotage the project or harness the power of the anomalies.

DOOM PATROL reimagines one of DC's most beloved groups of Super Heroes: Robotman aka Cliff Steele, Negative Man aka Larry Trainor, Elasti-Woman aka Rita Farr and Crazy Jane, led by modern-day mad scientist Niles Caulder aka The Chief. Each member of the Doom Patrol suffered a horrible accident that gave them superhuman abilities, but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatized and downtrodden, the team found their purpose through The Chief, coming together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence. Following the mysterious disappearance of The Chief these reluctant heroes will find themselves in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse. Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of superpowered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them.
The powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings. In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.
