Rene Guenon (1886-1951) was one of the great luminaries of the twentieth century, whose critique of the modern world has stood fast against the shifting sands of intellectual fashion. His extensive writings, now finally available in English, are a providential treasure-trove for the modern seeker: while pointing ceaselessly to the perennial wisdom found in past cultures ranging from the Shamanistic to the Indian and Chinese, the Hellenic and Judaic, the Christian and Islamic, and including also Alchemy, Hermeticism, and other esoteric currents, they direct the reader also to the deepest level of religious praxis, emphasizing the need for affiliation with a revealed tradition even while acknowledging the final identity of all spiritual paths as they approach the summit of spiritual realization. Studies in Freemasonry and the Compagnonnage is both an attempt to rediscover the lost roots of Masonry and a fascinating look into the many controversies swirling around the subject of Masonry in serious intellectual circles during the first half of the twentieth century. It must also be classed, along with Symbols of Sacred Science, Spiritual Authority and Temporal Power, Traditional Forms and Cosmic Cycles, The Esoterism of Dante, Insights into Christian Esoterism and Insights into Islamic Esoterism and Taoism-not to mention related sections in many of his other books-as one of Rene Guenon's masterful excursions into esoteric myth, symbolism, and secret history. Freemasonry may indeed be, as Guenon ultimately concluded, a largely degenerated and thus no longer strictly 'operative' offshoot of a true initiatory lineage; yet its symbolism, like that of the original Rosicrucians, remains profound, traditional, and therefore ultimately legitimate. And given that the 'Spirit bloweth where it listeth', it is always possible that symbolism of this order may awaken in a receptive soul intimations of the Truth and the Way, which can be of inestimable of value in 'the path to the Path', the quest for a living initiatory spirituality.

It covers such subjects as the all-seeing eye, immortality of the soul, the mystery of death, Solomon's temple, the Greater Mysteries, Sun worship, symbolic architecture, Hiran Abif, and much more.

The author's object in this book is to present a concise account of some of the rituals put forward for English Craft Masonry, and to compare and explain them, and various matters concerned with them, in order that the inquiring Brother may at least be put in the way of pursuing his researches into what is too often a hidden mystery, but which ought to be as obvious to him as his own badge as a Craftsman.
This volume contains two pamphlets entitled: Lessons in Capitual Masonry; and the Capitular Rite. "Lessons" intends a dual purpose: to marshal before the student of Masonry the essential factual material necessary for him to know in a unified way the composition of the structure of Capitular Masonry, and to have the interpretation of these symbols so clearly defined and explained that with their comprehension will come a greater vision of the beauties and truths of Royal Arch Masonry. "The Capitular Rite" is a statement of the place of the Royal Arch Degree in the York Rite and its relation to the system of Masonry as practiced in the ancient city of York, England. It contains a brief history of the origin and development of each of the Capitular Degrees and a discussion of their symbolism and Masonic significance.

An investigation into the lost treasures of Jesse James and the Freemasons and their connections to the Templars, Rosicrucians, and the Founding Fathers Jesse James left behind secret diaries and coded treasure maps. Working to decrypt these maps, Daniel J. Duke--the great-great grandson of Jesse James--reveals hidden treasures yet to be recovered as well as connections between the infamous train robber and Freemasonry, the Knights Templar, the Founding Fathers, and Jewish mysticism. The author explains how Jesse James faked his death and lived out his final years under the name James L. Courtney. He uncovers James' affiliation with the Knights of the Golden Circle, a secret society that buried Confederate gold across the United States, and shows how the hidden treasures coded into James' maps were not affiliated with the KGC but with the Freemasons, the Knights Templar, and the treasure of the Temple Mount. Using sacred geometry, gematria, and the Kabbalistic Tree of Life symbol, the author explains the encoded map technique used by the Freemasons to hide and later recover treasures, an esoteric template known as the "Veil". He shows how the Veil template confirms the locations of Jesse James' recovered treasures in Texas as well as other suspected treasure locations, such as the Oak Island Money Pit and Victorio Peak in New Mexico. Tracing knowledge of the Veil template back through the centuries, the author reveals the Veil hidden on the cover of a 16th-century book that contains a secret map of the New World and the "hooked X" symbol of the Knights Templar. He shows how the template was used not only to hide treasures but also sacred knowledge and relics, such as within the Bruton Vault, which originally contained secrets tied to Francis Bacon, the Freemasons, the Rosicrucians, and the founding of the United States. Applying the Veil template alongside the esoteric secrets of Poussin's famous painting, Et In Arcadia Ego, and Cassini's Celestial Globe, Duke shows how the template reveals other Templar and Freemason treasure sites scattered throughout America and around the world.

There are other things that you should hear said now, and without which you will not be fully in possession of this degree... You will find them in the Legenda... (quote from the 26th degree, AASR, SMJ). This book contains ALL of the "Legenda" and "Readings" written for members of the Scottish Rite to supplement the ritualistic instruction. This anthology is similar, in some respects, to Pike's Lectures on Masonic Symbolism, but was considered REQUIRED READING by Pike himself. No Mason can truly understand the Scottish Rite degrees without reading this essential work.
