Jakobus skryf sy brief aan Christene in ’n era van konflik. Rondom
hulle in die samelewing is daar rusies en konflik; tussen hulle as
gemeentelede is daar stryd en onmin; en binne-in hulself is daar
teenstrydige begeertes, onsekerheid, en twyfel oor wat hulle te
doen staan. Christene in Suid-Afrika beleef tans ook konflik van
allerlei aard. Dit maak nie saak waar ’n mens kyk of van watter
Christene ’n mens praat nie. Die ironie is dat ons dikwels nie
besef ons is die oorsaak van ons eie probleme nie. Deur hierdie
