Mary Slessor grew up in the slums of Dundee in the 1800's. Industry
was booming but housing was sub- standard and life expectancy was
low. Illness, disease and malnutrition killed many children before
they reached the age of five. Mary was lucky - born into a poor
family, abused by her father - she was still alive. Dundee was
Mary's training ground for a far fiercer battle. Mary left the
shores of Scotland while only in her early twenties to immerse
herself in reaching the lost tribes of Calibar in West Africa. Her
preparation in the slums of Dundee was the key ingredient to her
success on the mission field - that and her tireless trust and
belief in her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He was the reason she
was there. Calibar today still remembers Mary Slessor,
affectionately known as "Ma," her influence on that area of Africa
was astounding. Superstition demanded that families kill twin
babies and murder slaves and women at funerals - the Lord Jesus
Christ that Mary Slessor brought to these people set them free from
all that. They were set free from the law of sin and death.

The Magic of We encourages and challenges the imagination of
children. It is a poem that tells the story of two people finding
one another. The Magic of We is author Danielle Anderson-Craig's

from the gold-record selling Mars Volta and platinums selling Jack
White band. The book was written in response to Owens' untimely
death from heart attack in October, 2014. The book will include two
unreleased, exclusive Ikey Owens songs. Third Man Records will be
releasing an Ikey Owens box set in late 2017/ early 2018. Author

As a child in South Korea, Ban Ki-moon wrote a letter to the U.N.
secretary-general regarding the Hungarian uprising against Russia.
A few years later in the United States, he met President John F.
Kennedy. From then on, Ban desired to work for peace, an aspiration
that led him to become South Korea's foreign minister in 2004, at a
time when tensions between North Korea and its neighbors were
heated. Two years later, he ascended to the position of U.N.
secretary-general. Ban has worked to show the benefits of
diplomatic approaches in solving conflict, and has called for the
world's citizens to change their habits to curb global warming. To
restore people's trust in the battered organization, he has set
standards for other U.N. staff. In ""Ban Ki-moon"", read how his
further success in these areas will attempt to keep the U.N.
relevant in an increasingly complex world.

drama. His childhood, despite the terrible hardships, is drawn with
love and affection and contrasts starkly with the seven lonely
years of gruelling training at the Peking Dance Academy. At the age
of l8, Li performs at the Houston Ballet school in the US, which
leads to his dramatic defection. This is a condensed edition,
specially for younger readers, and has an Afterword especially for

Monty and Tyler Take the Top Road is a delightful, true story of a
horse named Monty and his canine friend, Tyler. Monty, a beautiful
Dales Cross Cob, and Tyler, a pedigree black Labrador, achieved
'fame' in the media in the summer of 2005 due to a special and
unusual skill they mastered. The story, told through the eyes of
the dog, Tyler, demonstrates a tender and trusting bond between the
animals, as well as the patience of their fun-loving owner who
playfully encourages Monty and Tyler to develop a talent born
entirely by chance. Monty and Tyler were the beloved pets of
Corporal Sarah Louise Bryant (Ne Feely), a soldier of the
Intelligence Corps of the British Army, who was killed in action in
Afghanistan on 17th June, 2008. Sarah had often suggested to her
father, Des Feely, that the true-life adventures of Monty and Tyler
would make a fun and amusing book for children and adults alike. It
was this recollection that inspired Mr. Feely to put pen to paper
during the months after his daughter's death, which has resulted in
a moving and amusing story, lovingly written in memory of Sarah.
The book is complemented by more than 40 colour photographs,
bringing the true adventures of Monty and Tyler to life, while
revealing the joy they brought to Sarah and her family. It is hoped
that the book's success will enable Mr. Feely to make donations to
various charities that support veterans of war.
Leon "Locksmith" Rolle is one-quarter of the phenomenally
successful band Rudimental. In this book, he shares his
aspirational story. With chapters on mindset, self-belief and
confidence, Leon encourages you to find balance and happiness, no
matter what life throws at you. Leon grew up in Hackney, where he
played semi-professional football and went on to form Rudimental
with three childhood friends. He says: "Things weren't always easy
for me growing up, and I made a lot of mistakes. But I don't regret
any of it, because everything that's happened has made me
Locksmith, and that makes me proud. I want you to be proud of
yourself too. You have the power to be great, and successes,
mistakes and failures are all just a part of life. It's the journey
that counts, because that's what makes you who you are." Let Leon's
story inspire you to embrace life and fulfil your incredible
potential.

Island who helped his community and his state develop effective
e-waste recycling programs. Heroes are of a variety of ages and

visuals - both photos and illustration.
Steve Prefontaine was better known to the world as simply "Pre". He
was more than an exceptional athlete; he was an exceptional person.
Pre once said "To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice
the Gift." This book is not about what Pre gained during his short
and brilliant life, but what he refused to give up as celebrity
status settled inevitably on his shoulders. This unique story of
Pre is specifically written for young people. Rocketman is told
through the eyes and voice of Owen Morgan. Owen is a literary
conduit through which the entirely factual events and characters
are presented. The stories Owen shares with the readers are the
stories of the people who knew and loved Steve Prefontaine, and the
people Pre loved. *Author royalties will go to a special fund
established by Linda Prefontaine for physical education and arts
programs at Blossom Gulch School in Coos Bay Oregon. Blossom Gulch
was both Steve and Linda's former elementary school. Rocketman CD
is now available!!

Everybody's Favorite Brother (A real DC story) is a book about
family life, faith, inspiration, growing up in the inner city, and
black family life. It is a semi autobiography of the author,
written about how his favorite brother's life touched his entire
family.
It is an inspirational book for children and for people of all
ages. It is written in the hope to motivate and inspire children to
live on the right side of the law. Through some of the authors, and
his family, trials and tirbulations he tries to connect to the
young reader with realism by showing the consequences of one's
actions.
It is an awesome and dramatic read for adults as well, because it
deals with spirituality, faith, drugs and family life. This is a
true story written from the authors memoirs.
Everybody's Favorite Brother is about a black family growing up in
Washington, DC in the 1960's and beyond. It deals with the pitfalls
and success stories of inner city youth. Although it is written
about a black family it deals with families of every ethnicity.
This story chronicle's the life of two brothers, one living a
regular life and the other living in the fast lane. The author was
a regular kid with dreams and aspirations to become successful in
life. He dreamed of playing football one day, going to college, and
playing in the NFL. He was big on education, reading and sports. It
was his love for sports that spurred his desire to read and become
successful in life. Although he sometimes ventured away from his
dreams, he always kept hope alive that he would be successful. He
realizes later that his dreams were attainable if he had received
more direction from mentors and/or adults.
The author'ssibling, JT, who is their favorite brother, lived in
the fast lane. A young man that could make you laugh and frown in a
moments notice. A troubled youth who was raised in a good, stable
home but found the bad element of the streets very easily. He did
not take to school and books like his younger brother (author);
however he used his life as a model to show him that the fast lane
led to a dead end.
JT lived his life as if there was no tomorrow. He lived his life at
twice the speed of people who strive to be successful by following
the laws of the land. Although a troubled youth, he was still a
good mentor, protector, companion and caring individual.
Everybody's Favorite Brother is sort of a modern day Black version
of the television mini-series "Rich Man, Poor Man." Which was about
two brothers, who grew up in the same home but lived two different
ways, one taking to crime and the other becoming successful.
Life has its way of showing us things that we never even imagine
were real. Through the authors' faith and acceptance of Jesus
Christ as his Lord and Savior, he learns that God is Omniscient
(all-knowing), Omnipresent (everywhere) and he truly speaks to us
in many ways.
Job 33:13-17
Why do you complain to him that he answers none of man's words? For
God does speak- now one way, now another- though man may not
perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep
falls on men as they slumber in their beds, he may speak in their
ears and terrify them with warnings, to turn man from wrongdoing
and keep him from pride.
Exciting book of extreme sports adventures by daring, lifelong
adventurer, Gary Paulsen
Come join us my friend, In the Land of the Boo. There you'll see
Purple-Green sand, And little Betty Lou, too. In a series of
children stories in Tales of the Boo, Uncle Jake takes a whimsical
look at the magical, mystical world of the Boo - fanciful creatures

the smallest Boo ends up helping everyone and how panic and wild
imaginations can lead to mass hysteria. A true Aesop-style lesson
for today's youth, The Tales of the Boo, also chronicles how, by
not always following the crowd, one individual can change the world
for the better. Rhyming in classic style, Uncle Jake makes this
book a truly entertaining and educating read for all ages - and one
that can be shared by all children and parents.
