Every statement that a person makes is either true or false-that is, a lie. In his comprehensive study, "Lies Have Ruined the World," author Dennis Proux seeks to expose the dishonesty, myths, and fabrications provided by powerful influences in the most important areas of our lives, including religious institutions, government, and our legal system. Proux feels that all humans yearn to be free to discover their own worlds and realize their full potential. While relying on the wisdom and insight from such authors as Charles Darwin, Thomas Paine, Carl Sagan, and countless others, Proux offers a compelling glimpse into the lies surrounding western monotheistic religions, Wall Street, and our nation's government and justice system. As he examines biblical tales, reveals corruption within our society, and dissects many painful realities, Proux offers insight and potential solutions that will ultimately inspire a life based on fact and honesty, rather than on fiction and lies. "Lies Have Ruined the World" encourages seekers of the truth to explore their own perceptions of the failure of western institutions to garner and hold trust.

Sprinkled throughout this book is a rebuttal to Richard Dawkins book, "The God Delusion." In addition to that, however, there is a strong message for the Christian Church. Over time, the Church has allowed much to dilute Christ's message and gets fairly caught up in social activities, food, musical events, more food, and bringing in the lost by giving them, yes, food, rather than spending much time equipping the Body of Christ with the tools to follow Jesus' commands ("If you love Me," He said, "follow my commands ") We tend to avoid the tasks before us that are the most difficult. High on the list of things to NOT do, because they are too hard, is love our enemies, pray for those who persecute us, die to self, swallow pride, and be a humble servant of God. We have no excuse to avoid Jesus' commands any longer. The TRUE Christian rubber must hit the road. God has given His Church reason to unite in prayer in the three New Atheists who brandish swords of unbelief, as they ride their black steeds through the courtyards of the Christian Church. Through this Biblical based book, the Christian will receive encouragement to "pray through" until the job is accomplished and the three New Atheists are brought to their knees, not by our cleverness, not by our threats, not by our preaching, nor by our curses-but by our prayers to the Almighty God of the Bible, which Christians will once again discover, is the most powerful force in the universe. Once the Christians see the power of God bring the atheists to their knees, which will happen when the Church unites in prayer for them, they will understand that all things are possible through Christ who strengthens them-all things the Lord commands we do, CAN be done, through Him The Atheist Delusion can lead to some mighty intense discussions. The atheists tend to think this spiritual discussion is the most ridiculous thing in the world. If one aggressive godless soul comes to the Lord, it will have been worth it.

Contemporary Agnosticism. Presented are Jesus' teachings after
intense historical and scientific analysis.
"Criticism of Earth" thoroughly reassesses Marx and Engels's engagement with theology, analyzing their collected works for discussions of spiritual matters and the persistence of biblical allusions. What emerges is a continued interest that is maintained throughout their lives, from Marx's "Critique of Hegel's Philosophy of Right," until the very end with Engels's treatise on the revolutionary origins of early christianity.
C.S. Lewis' classic The Screwtape Letters is full of keen wit and wise counsel--if one is a Christian believer. Such a reader will find much to ponder in its pages. But suppose one begins to question whether it is the voice of mature reason that Lewis portrays as the wiles of Satan? The Needletoe Letters takes the other side, depicting the letters of advice and guidance from a veteran angel to his inexperienced nephew. Their common task? To keep Christian believers hoodwinked and flummoxed Read this book, and see if you don't begin to have second thoughts about your faith
A landmark work. Mandatory reading for anyone who wants to learn to
be a good skeptic.
Five track athletes from New York went to Jamaica to learn the secrets to Jamaican sprinting. In their quest for immediate success, they ventured into the sacred hills of Jamaica. The harrowing experience almost killed them. Defeat and disappointment at the local track meet led them to become spies. The clues that they found convinced them that they could crack the secret codes that Jamaican's use to communicate and hide the secrets to sprinting. After a near death experience, a trip to the hospital and trickery from the number one con man in Jamaica, they returned to New York to compete in the County Championships.
The Age of Reason, The Complete Edition is one of the most powerful thought provoking books ever written about God and religion. It smashes through the ancient walls of superstition and fear of the "revealed" religions with the unstoppable battering ram of our innate God-given reason Thomas Paine was often attacked for having written this enlightening book, but his arguments and profound observations found within have never been defeated. This edition contains the seldom seen third part to The Age of Reason and, unlike any other editions, also includes all of Paine's known essays and correspondence regarding God, Deism, the Bible and theology.

Can atheists be moral? Religion and morality are closely linked in the minds of many people. It is widely believed you can't have one without the other. And if morality needs religion, then what does that say about atheists? Can they be moral? Can there be a morality without God? This book takes on the myth that atheists can't be moral. It looks at what morality is, the different kinds of moralities that already exist, and what a secular morality would look like. Along the way it challenges beliefs about the nature of morality and misconceptions that lead to the belief that atheists can't be moral.
Beginning in 1689, Jean Meslier worked for around forty years as the priest of the small town of Etripigny, France. When he died, his parishioners were astonished to find his last testament to them: a refutation of every religious doctrine he had advocated in life. This is the testament, with preface by Voltaire, who exhorted his own daughter to read it again and again. The Godless Heritage Series is a project dedicated to bringing hard-to-find works of atheist and secularist history back into print in an accessible way. Our goal is to bring back works that allow us to rediscover the lives of atheists, agnostics, and secularists from across cultures and through the ages.
"Santo Daime: A New World Religion" deals with a young, exotic and controversial religious movement. Emerging in the Brazilian Amazon in the 1930s, Santo Daime has since spread to many of the world's major cities. Santo Daime is a mixture of indigenous, popular Catholic, Afro-Brazilian, esoteric, Spiritist, and new age beliefs and activities. Ritual practice is centred on the consumption of a psychotropic beverage called 'Daime' which members believe enhances their interaction with the supernatural world. Because Daime is treated as an illegal narcotic in many parts of the world, outside of its Brazilian homeland most Santo Daime rituals are practised clandestinely. This book unites extensive fieldwork experience with an established theoretical background and makes a significant contribution to understanding the contemporary interface of religion and late-modern society. Individualization and religious subjectivism, pluralization and religious hybridism, transformation and detraditionalization, globalization and religious identity, and commoditization and religious consumption are among the many issues engaged by this book. "Santo Daime: A New World Religion" is an accessible and multi-disciplinary book suitable for undergraduate students and researchers working in Religious Studies, Sociology of Religion, Anthropology, Cultural Studies and Latin American Studies.
One of the first attempts ever to present in a systematic way a non-western semiotic system. This book looks at Japanese esoteric Buddhism and is based around original texts, informed by explicit and rigorous semiotic categories. It is a unique introduction to important aspects of the thought and rituals of the Japanese Shingon tradition. Semiotic concerns are deeply ingrained in the Buddhist intellectual and religious discourse, beginning with the idea that the world is not what it appears to be, which calls for a more accurate understanding of the self and reality. This in turn results in sustained discussions on the status of language and representations, and on the possibility and methods to know reality beyond delusion; such peculiar knowledge is explicitly defined as enlightenment. Thus, for Buddhism, semiotics is directly relevant to salvation; this is a key point that is often ignored even by Buddhologists. This book discusses in depth the main elements of Buddhist semiotics as based primarily on original Japanese pre-modern sources. It is a crucial publication in the fields of semiotics and religious studies.
As one accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior and begins the spiritual new birth, they would be faced with many situations and circumstances that cannot be handled by any human hands or flesh. These situations and circumstances are to be placed on the Lord, and ask him, to handle these circumstances for you. As a child of God Christians are admonish to cast their cares, circumstances and burdens upon the one and only person that is able to handle it and carry them through. A child of God must not trust in the arm of flesh, but fully trust in God, by faith and hope in God only. This book is written to shed light of some of the things that Christians go through, possible encouragements and spiritual enlistment. One is encourage to read this book thought fully, as in it, are words of wisdom and inspiration that will help you in your daily Christian walk in order that you can remain faithful to God. The birth of this book was a burden of my heart from God's Holy Spirit, who was with me in every step of the way in writing this book. This book was written; first of all to help sinners turn their heart to Christ, and to help and encourage Christians, significantly those who are struggling through their Christian life, to shed enlightenment on some of the persecutions, struggles, abuses, and accuses that one might encounter on their day to day living. I am persuaded that in this book, a sinner's heart will be geared towards serving God and a child of God heart would be stirred up to walk righteously and uprightly before him. For all its readers, this book will be a comfort to the hurting, a source of strength to the weak, healing for the sick, joy for those who are mourning and a garment of praise for those with a heavy heart. The words of wisdom that is shed in this book, is a must have and a must needed option. Be blessed. From the heart of God, to my heart, and transferred to your heart. -God's servant -Francine Lewis |
