Messages from God All messages in this book are from God, revealed by the Holy Spirit to the author. All scripture is taken from the King James Version of the Holy Bible. "I make known to you, brothren, that the Gospel which was preached by me, is not after man, for I neither received it of man, neither, was I taught it. but by the revelation of Jesus Christ." (Galatians 1:11, 12) Jesus said, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He hath anointed me to preach the Gospel to the poor." (Luke 4:18) "God has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised" (Isaiah 61:1-2) Reverend A. L. Dorrough Messages from God
The enemy is enraged. He knows he has but a short time and ferociously attacks God's creation. However, it is possible to defend ourselves, especially for the Christian who is knowledgeable and aware of aggressive prayer. Supported by rich teachings, this spiritual warfare manual contains powerful and targeted prayers to dislodge and to put to shame the works of darkness. In this book are discussed the judgments of the spiritual world, travel and ancestral forces, flight in dreams, evil baths, and the evil spirit of your uncle. In addition, we address the issue of accidents caused by the spiritual world, bad news, nostrils' deliverance, forces attacking marriages, and finally strange things. Supported with real examples, these topics of everyday life are dissected so that the depths of the Bible are accessible to all. Th is book is for anyone who wants to know more about spiritual warfare, whether they are pastors, ministers, workers, Christians engaged in spiritual warfare, or even those who are tormented by the spirits of the world of darkness and who want to end their afflictions.

Dr. Howard has crafted a careful and balanced blend of Bible exposition, theology, real-life illustrations from his vast ministerial experience, and practical applications to those who yearn for their lives to be transformed from a messy situation to a message that honors and glorifies God. Each chapter expounds the miraculous way God used an unlikely individual with a messy life and turned his or her life into a positive message. The woman at the well, Zacchaeus, Jabez, Ruth, the thief on the cross, and Jephthah all faced challenging circumstances. Sin, genetics, the unexpected death of a spouse, rebellion, and poor family heritage placed these Bible characters in the "most likely not to succeed" category. All had three strikes against them. God, in His infinite mercy and grace, had a plan for each of these lives. He turned their mess into a positive message. Regardless of what mess you find your life to be in, this book gives practical ways of how to get out. Everyone faces trials and difficulties in life. Dr. Howard likens the trials and difficulties in life to "potholes." Potholes appear out of nowhere - unexpectedly - and can be destructive and hurtful and take away our joy and sense of well being. Dr. Howard says, "Being a Christian does not mean that we will not be faced with trials and tribulations, which are like potholes in our lives (some are big while others are small)." Regardless of how messy your life is or how many potholes are causing you concern, "Turning Your Mess into a Message" will give you hope and lead you to the Savior, who alone can turn your life around. He did it for the six Bible characters expounded upon in the book and He continues to change and transform messy lives into a message today.
Jervis Sharp Zimmerman was born in Harvey, Illinois in 1922. He graduated from the University of Illinois with High Honors in English and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Thereafter he prepared for the Christian ministry at McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago and was ordained in 1945 by the Presbytery of Chicago. He subsequently earned a Master's degree in counseling psychology at the University of Chicago. In 1953, after studying at Berkeley Divinity School in New Haven, Connecticut he was ordained deacon and priest by the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut in which he continues serving. From 1954 to l967 he was Rector of Christ Church, West Haven, Connecticut where Oliver Prescott served in l866 and l867. It was this fact which sparked the author's interest in Prescott which led to this biography. Prescott was an early and ardent advocate for the Catholic revival in the Episcopal Church. As a priest he was in constant difficulty with his bishop, both for his doctrine and his liturgical usage. With his protege, Charles Grafton, he was an early member of the Society of St.John the Evangelist, the first modern monastic community for men in the Church of England.
Recent arguments surrounding the meaning and message of the Qur'an often focus on whether or not it supports or exhorts violence. Such arguments, though, tend to ignore the fact that the scriptures found there speak to various aspects of life and living. The Qur'anic Narrative attempts to show that the Qur'an has an inspiring message that aims to enlighten the path of those who embrace it and guides them through the journey of life. Exploring various themes related to everyday experiences, Safi reveals the meaning of the Qur'an with regard to issues of spirit, faith, charity, patience, fasting, salvation, pride, charity, moral discipline, and other relevant topics. In an attempt to recapture the Islamic spirit promoted in the Qur'an, this book offers an approach that speaks to areas of life many people are concerned about. It pastes together a narrative that is more consistent and more representative of the overall Qur'anic message, which, the author contends, is ultimately one of peace and hope. Safi places the Qur'an in context, too, by examining its meaning to early recipients of the scriptures and its place in that particular social and historical context. He continues by updating that meaning for modern readers and adherents, relating the intended meaning to an evolving human audience and to contemporary experiences. The author contends that extremist readings are misinterpretations and that those who may view the Qur'an as a holy text that encourages, even demands, violence are incorrect. Ultimately, readers will come away from this work with a broader appreciation of the Qur'an and its intended meaning and message.

The process of finding ones self, or self worth becomes tedious, when there is no one there to direct or to give instruction of purpose and destiny; or mainly the identity, of the person with the crisis. Prophet Rodney will testify that when he experienced the disarray of life, there was much unexplained emotional pain. Feelings of repeated rejection, molested at age eight by a very close family member. He became overwhelmed with life and the uncertainty that it brings. Avenues of promiscuity opened and were vastly available. Many times we in the Body of Christ compromise the word of God through conversations with satanic voices of rebellion assigned to us from Satan. Satan has assigned voices to cause us to fall from the will of God in disobedience of the Word known to us. Satan desires to lead you to see opposite of what God wants you to see; and that strips us from position, of such is what happened to him (Satan).

This book is comprised of a compendium of motivational essays that are intended to stimulate the mind and stir the heart toward sensing the magnificence of the Almighty Lord, Allah (Glory be to Him, the Most High), as also to experience the beauty and wisdom of Islam, and to imbibe the principles and precepts of life taught by Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The style of these discourses is generally intended to educate both Muslims and non-Muslims on the spirit and values of Islam, and on recognizing humanity and human attributes within oneself, as well as to share Islamic ethics, morality, philosophies, and principles so as to promote the understanding of Islam and to illuminate the purpose of life. Each essay is motivated by several particularly insightful verses from the Qur'an and traditions and sayings of the Prophet, which in themselves are enlightening to read and reflect upon.
I wonder what the Samaritan woman who met Jesus at Jacob's Well was like. What were the circumstances that led to her being there, drawing water in the heat of the day? The New Testament does not give us much background on the people involved in some of the familiar stories. This book brings those characters to life by letting the reader imagine what their life might have been like. Consider Joseph as a man wondering how he got himself into a situation where he and his pregnant wife were traveling to Bethlehem. What happened at the birth of Jesus from the perspective of another guest in the Inn? Did the jailer in Philippi have a son? If he did, how might he have viewed the events that happened while Paul was a prisoner? A Centurion had a servant who was ill. What was the relationship between the Centurion and the servant? How did the Centurion happen to get sent to Galilee? These stories take New Testament stories as a starting place and consider a different possibility. They will challenge you to think again about the people who might have met Jesus in person.
