The body-mind connection is a well-documented fact in today's
medical paradigm. Yet, long before recent scientific research
uncovered this natural linkage, it was described in Kabbalistic
healing manuals, with one important difference--there it was
understood to be a link between the body, mind, and soul of
kabbalah and healing.
This healing manual explains Kabbalah's centuries-old perception
of human physiology, its view on how to maintain overall health,
and how this is dependent on our spiritual well-being.
"The phenomenon of disease is one of spiritual] separation or
estrangement," the rabbi writes pertaining to kabbalah and healing.
When disconnected from our innermost self, and our spiritual
Source, illness manifests. Were we to understand the true source of
our ailments, and give full expression to our yearning to connect
with our life Source, we would have no need for external
remedies.
Whether you rely on today's holistic healing or on more
traditional medicine, you'll benefit from the Kabbalistic
prescriptions for healing and understanding of human physiology
laid out in this valuable book.
Body, Mind, Soul: Kabbalah and Healing includes:
- A reference guide to the body-soul interaction
- A detailed description of Kabbalah's understanding of disease
and its root causes
- Contemporary healing methods seen from a mystical point of
view
- A discussion of the healing power of prayer and teshuvah (return
to G-d)
Kabbalistic healing is a complete system of belief and
practice. Of interest to anyone seeking true holism.
The Dark Side of Japan is a collection of folk tales, black magic,
protection spells, monsters and other dark interpretations of life
and death from Japanese folklore. Much of the information comes
from ancient documents, translated into English here for the first
time. Antony Cummins has also searched the now forgotten Victorian
volumes on Japanese mythology and explains recent academic research
on Japan for the non-expert. Antony has transformed the complex
information into a modern rendering, with stories and details that
let a modern reader enter into the world of the forgotten legends
of old Japan and the superstitions that colour them, some of which
still exist today. The Dark Side of Japan is profusely illustrated,
with drawings showcasing the 'hellish' concepts within. And
remarkably hellish they are, too. Consider the kappa: 'goblin-like
creatures that have the body of a child, the face of a tiger
adorned with a beak and the shell of a turtle. They drag people
into rivers and ponds and drown them. If a woman gives birth to a
kappa baby after being raped, the baby is hacked to death.'

shares stories from her years of experiences with ghosts, organized
around thirteen truths that guide her approach to the supernatural.
Amy Bruni, co-star of Kindred Spirits and one of the world's
leading paranormal investigators, has learned a lot about ghosts
over her years of research and first-hand experience. Now, in Life
with the Afterlife, she shares the insight she has gleaned and how
it has shaped her unique approach to interacting with the spirits
of the dead and those who encounter them. From her earliest
supernatural encounters as a child, through her years appearing on
Ghost Hunters and the creation of her company Strange Escapes,
which offers paranormal excursions to some of America's most
notoriously haunted destinations, and into her current work on The
Travel Channel's Kindred Spirits, this book is full of astonishing
and deeply moving stories of Amy's efforts to better understand the
dead but not yet departed. With Amy's bright humor and fierce
compassion for both those who are haunted and those who are
haunting, Life with the Afterlife is an eye-opening look at what
connects us as people, in life and beyond. A USA Today Bestseller

Mountains of Peru are rich with ancient shamanic traditions, sacred
places, and heart wisdom passed down from the Inca and safeguarded
for generations by the Q’eros nation. In this experiential guide
to the wisdom and practices of the Andean people and their sacred
land, Vera Lopez and Linda Star Wolf take you on an intimate
journey through the sacred sites, temples, and power places of
Peru, including Machu Picchu, Cuzco, Ollantaytambo, Sacsayhuamán,
PÃsac, Lake Titicaca, and more. They show how each of these
powerful sites holds an ancient wisdom--an initiation left behind
by the Inca--and they share initiatory rites and shamanic
journeying practices to allow you to integrate and embody the
wisdom of each sacred place. The authors explore the cosmology and
core shamanic beliefs of the Andean people, including Pachamama,
the Sacred Law of Reciprocity, the Serpent of Light, the Chakannah,
and power animals such as condors, snakes, hummingbirds, and pumas.
They examine healing practices and sacred plants of this tradition,
including a look at the shamanic use of ayahuasca and San Pedro.
Offering direct access to the gentle heart of wisdom found within
the ancient shamanic land of Peru, the authors show how the Andean
shamanic tradition offers an antidote to the modern epidemic of
Soul Loss by connecting us back to our authentic self and the
universal principles of love, reciprocity, and gratitude.
AÂ 15th-century grimoire, or book of magic, that includes
instructions on how an individual can make contact with their Holy
Guardian Angel. Although the instructions may seem quite simple,
few have managed to complete the operation – even the highly
experienced occultist Aleister Crowley failed to do so. Over
a six-month period in 1977, Ramsey Dukes attempted this Abramelin
operation. The challenge was to adapt the ritual to twentieth
century conditions, and The Abramelin Diaries is his record of the
struggle and the outcome. Looking forward, the book offers
practical advice for anyone wanting to attempt this notorious
operation themselves. Looking back, the author comments on the
operation’s legacy: what happened after, how it changed – and
continues to impact – him and his life. Is spiritual retirement
still relevant today? Or is it just nostalgia for a simpler, more
meaningful lifestyle? Why does technological empowerment threaten
our sense of purpose? Many intriguing questions are raised as we
read of one man’s struggle to shape a simple, significant
lifestyle routine from the chaos of normality.

city that rose and fell not once but twice . . .' _______ The story
of Troy speaks to all of us. It is the kidnapping of Helen, a queen
celebrated for her beauty, which sees the Greeks launch a thousand
ships against that great city, to which they will lay siege for ten
whole and very bloody years. It is Zeus, the king of the gods, who
triggers war when he asks the Trojan prince Paris to judge the
fairest goddess of them all. Aphrodite bribes Paris with the heart
of Helen, wife of King Menelaus of the Greeks, and nature takes its
course. It is a terrible, brutal war with casualties on all sides.
The Greeks cannot defeat the Trojans - since Achilles, the Greek's
boldest warrior, is consumed with jealousy over an ally's choice of

ideals and the lowest cunning. In Troy you will find heroism and
hatred, revenge and regret, desire and despair. It is these human

still speak to us today. Troy is a myth in which we seek the truth

Finalist, 2021 Bram Stoker Awards (Superior Achievement in
Non-Fiction) The first collection of essays to address Satan's
ubiquitous and popular appearances in film Lucifer and cinema have
been intertwined since the origins of the medium. As humankind's
greatest antagonist and the incarnation of pure evil, the cinematic
devil embodies our own culturally specific anxieties and desires,
reflecting moviegoers' collective conceptions of good and evil,
right and wrong, sin and salvation. Giving the Devil His Due is the
first book of its kind to examine the history and significance of
Satan onscreen. This collection explores how the devil is not just
one monster among many, nor is he the "prince of darkness" merely
because he has repeatedly flickered across cinema screens in
darkened rooms since the origins of the medium. Satan is instead a
force active in our lives. Films featuring the devil, therefore,
are not just flights of fancy but narratives, sometimes
reinforcing, sometimes calling into question, a familiar belief
system. From the inception of motion pictures in the 1890s and
continuing into the twenty-first century, these essays examine what
cinematic representations tell us about the art of filmmaking, the
desires of the film-going public, what the cultural moments of the
films reflect, and the reciprocal influence they exert. Loosely
organized chronologically by film, though some chapters address
more than one film, this collection studies such classic movies as
Faust, Rosemary's Baby, The Omen, Angel Heart, The Witch, and The
Last Temptation of Christ, as well as the appearance of the Devil
in Disney animation. Guiding the contributions to this volume is
the overarching idea that cinematic representations of Satan
reflect not only the hypnotic powers of cinema to explore and
depict the fantastic but also shifting social anxieties and desires
that concern human morality and our place in the universe.

Internationally renowned shamanic teacher and bestselling author
Alberto Villoldo presents a brand new, insightful guide to the
shamanic teachings of the Andean medicine wheel. Shamanism is the
exercise of personal power, born of knowledge, with the goal of
service to all beings. The teachings of the medicine wheel - a
spiritual technology for healing - have existed for millennia in
different forms throughout the world. The medicine wheel eventually
brings you to the wisdom wheel, a subtle process for personal and
planetary transformation, necessary for when the world is facing
times of crisis that require extraordinary interventions. In this
book, you will learn to work with the wisdom wheel and its four
'powers', each of which is associated with an archetypal animal and
a sacred journey - the serpent, the journey of the healer; the
jaguar, the journey beyond death; the hummingbird, the way of
joyous wisdom; and the eagle, the transcending power. Every
conquest in the wisdom wheel frees you from a fate predetermined by
your genetics and your upbringing - a fate that blocks you from
achieving your destiny as homo luminous, the new species of human
that can live harmoniously with the Earth and with one another. As
you make your way through the wisdom wheel you will become an
Earthkeeper, a steward of all life. Your health and relationships
will flourish as you join a sacred journey shared by enlightened
humans around the globe - the new story that we are crafting for
all the Earth's inhabitants.
AGRIPPA, THE 16TH-CENTURY PHILOSOPHER, published a well-known and
often referenced esoteric classic -- Three Books of Occult
Philosophy (Natural Magic, Celestial Magic, and Ceremonial Magic).
Until recently these three volumes were hard to find in English,
although they had been translated in the 17th century and published
in England. Willy Schrodter saw the value in these texts from a
contemporary point of view, and compiled copious notes and
commentary on many of the subjects mentioned in Agrippa's opus. His
research makes Agrippa understandable, providing scientific
confirmation for Agrippa's seemingly outlandish claims with
carefully documented parallel cases. It is Schrodter's illuminating
examples, taken from the most varied fields of research, that
constitute the real and lasting value of this compilation.
