During the mid-thirties in Paris, Gurdjieff drew together four
women: Solita Solano, Kathryn Hulme, Alice Rohrer and Elizabeth
Gordon -- and formed a special, mutually supporting work group.
In allegory he explained: You are going on a journey under my
guidance, an "inner-world journey" like a high mountain climb where
you must be roped together for safety, where each must think of the
others on the rope, all for one and one for all. You must, in
short, help each other "as hand washes hand," each contributing to
the company according to her lights, according to her means. Only
faithful hard work on yourselves will get you where I want you to
go, not your wishing.
Among themselves they called their foursome "The Rope."
The company around Gurdjieff's table, his principal teaching
site, soon expanded to include Louise Davidson, Margaret Anderson,
Georgette Leblanc and Jane Heap.
Originally, the Sirius System contained two large stars, blue-white
Sirius A (Isis), still the brightest star in our nighttime sky, and
red-giant Sirius B (Osiris). Both were visible from Earth. Circling
these stars was a large planet, the "offspring" of these two
stellar "deities": Horus, or Planet X Nibiru. This planet was
inhabited by "Saurians" who possessed an advanced technology,
including space travel. When red-giant Sirius B imploded and
collapsed into its presently invisible neutron-dwarf state,
shockwaves from this momentous occurrence catapulted Planet X
Nibiru from the Sirius System into our own nearby Solar System.
This cataclysm clearly happened within our recorded history, and it
is the primary purpose of this book to explore that event.
Come along with Rupert the rabbit as he again travels through the
Wheel of the Year. In this second book of adventures, he learns
about tolerance, respect, and acceptance, and discovers how people
celebrate seasonal holidays in the forest where he lives. The tales
(one for each season - Samhain, Yule, Imbolc, and Ostara) set the
stage for our furry friend to understand the importance of the
seasons and that remembering love and laughter is always wise. He
learns about decorations, songs, symbols, and how important the sun
and its warmth really are. Join Rupert as he meets a new fairy
friend and lots of girls and boys. Find out how someone very
special steals Rupert's heart! Perfect for teaching sacred Pagan
practices and beliefs to young children being raised within varied
traditions. Rupert's Tales are stories for all children,
everywhere!
Suppose there is something going on in the universe which is to
ordinary, everyday reality as our unconcious is to our daily lives?
Softly, but unmistakably guiding it. Most of the time, we are
unaware of it. Yet, every now and then, on account of some fluke,
we are startled by the results of its presence. We realize we have
been part of something with neither consciousness nor consent. It
is so sweet and then it is gone. You say, But I don t believe in
God. And I ask, What makes you think it matters to God?" from
Lawrence Kushner, whose previous books have opened up new
spiritual possibilities, now tells us stories in a new literary
form.
Through his everyday encounters with family, friends, colleagues
and strangers, Kushner takes us deeply into our lives, finding
flashes of spiritual insight in the process. Such otherwise
ordinary moments as fighting with his children, shopping for
bargain basement clothes, or just watching a movie are revealed to
be touchstones for the sacred.
This is a book where literature meets spirituality, where the
sacred meets the ordinary, and, above all, where people of all
faiths, all backgrounds can meet one another and themselves.
Kushner ties together the stories of our lives into a roadmap
showing how everything ordinary is supercharged with meaning if we
can just see it.
Imprisoned in a remote Turkish POW camp during the First World War,
two British officers, Harry Jones and Cedric Hill, cunningly join
forces. To stave off boredom, Jones makes a handmade Ouija board
and holds fake seances for fellow prisoners. One day, an Ottoman
official approaches him with a query: could Jones contact the
spirits to find a vast treasure rumoured to be buried nearby?
Jones, a lawyer, and Hill, a magician, use the Ouija board - and
their keen understanding of the psychology of deception-to build a
trap for their captors that will lead them to freedom. The
Confidence Men is a nonfiction thriller featuring strategy, mortal
danger and even high farce - and chronicles a profound but unlikely
friendship.
Every day we experience situations where we are exposed to
uncertainties, mental or emotional disturbances, positive or
negative stress. Everything we go through leaves a mark on our
personal story. Some are uplifting positive memories, others are
painful to a degree that we suppress them in order to escape the
trauma. Each detail of our personal story reveals part of who we
are and what blocks our growth. In these spheres of our personal
stories we hide our deepest beliefs, concepts, feelings and
thoughts that all affect the way we look at life, each other and
ourselves. This often generates diseases in our mental, emotional
or physical bodies. The Song of Life Healing Matrix provides you
with the unique tools to bring to light the deepest details of your
of own song of life. This highly effective tool contains the
teachings from eight representatives of the Divine Mother-the
ascended masters who represent the divine Feminine for planet
earth. They address the blocks to your personal healing and
introduce a highly effective tool for sound healing in the form of
the Song Life. The eight invocations that you can easily learn,
allow you to call forth the following types of healing: The
transformation of your sense of identity so you realize you are a
spiritual being in a human body. The clearing of your mental body
from all blocking illusions and destructive thought patterns. The
healing of emotional wounds and the release of the accumulated
negative feelings that reinforce self-destructive reactionary
patterns. The healing of the organs and systems in your physical
body from any disease. The healing of all lack of balance that
prevents you from manifesting your goals in life. The healing of
all sense of lack that block the manifestation of a spiritually and
materially abundant life. The healing of all blocks to your
acceptance of unconditional love and the flow of love through your
being. The healing of the denial of your true identity as a
co-creator with God and the fact that we are all are part of the
Divine Feminine.
Did you know that the father of psychoanalysis believed in ghosts,
or that Frederick Engels attended seances? Ghosts: Deconstruction,
Psychoanalysis, History is the first collection of theoretical
essays to evaluate these facts and consider the importance of the
metaphor of haunting as it has appeared in literature, culture, and
philosophy. Haunting is considered as both a literal and figurative
term that encapsulates social anxieties and concerns. The
collection includes discussions of nineteenth-century spiritualism,
gothic and postcolonial ghost stories, and popular film, with
essays on important theoretical writers including Freud, Derrida,
Adorno, and Walter Benjamin.
