Solid Silver: This variation of Liquid Metals differs from other silver shades within the range as it contains aluminium particles – this makes the liquid metal more opaque to provide excellent coverage.

Bronze powder is made up of fine particles of metal carefully mixed to produce shades approximating the colours of gold. These powders are often used in restoring gilt finishes; when mixed with a medium such as Gilt Wax Medium, they can be applied to a surface much like a paint.

Treasure Gold is a metallic wax, which is unexcelled in restoring gold leaf and the finishing touches for antiquing. Blend any of the colours for just the right shade and depth of tone. The leaves in this booklet are worked for ten hours in five phases to transform them from a copper ingot form to leaves tenths of microns thick.

This leaf booklet contains 25 copper leaves measuring 80x80mm.

One book of copper will cover an area of 0.16m² without waste or overlap. (The amount of waste can be determined by the gilder’s own level of expertise and will depend on the complexity of the surface being gilded.) The higher the copper content of a leaf the more durable it will be. For outdoor work it is advisable to only gild using leaf that 23ct or higher to avoid tarnishing.

The copper leaves that are contained in the transfer booklet are held on tissue paper and are laid out in pages. This product is especially suited for gilding ceilings or outdoor surfaces.

Traditional size for illumination. Made with natural gums. Yellow colour. For gilding or repairing, with gold leaf or bronze powder on frames, paper or glass.  Stir the water gold size gently with the end of a paintbrush. A vigorous shake will introduce air bubbles, which you should avoid. Paint over the area to be gilded with a brush. Allow to dry, which may take between 10 to 20 minutes. While it is still tacky apply the gold. If the gold size dries out too much, then its stickiness can be reactivated by breathing directly over the applied size.
