books for the younger members of our communities, and have been
successfully used in schools for the last ten years. This title is

now called the Little Library Numeracy Kit. The Numeracy Kit keeps
seven of the best stories, and introduces five new ones - all of
them trialled in classrooms around the country. In Scary Footsteps,

The Little Library Life Skills Kit (along with the Literacy and
Numeracy Kits) was initially developed to respond to a need for
high quality, indigenous books for the younger members of our
communities. After ten years successful use in schools, the kits
have now been revised to meet the changing needs of learners,
schools and the new education policies. The Life Skills Kit focuses
on promoting life skills to learners of five to nine years of age,
as stated in the National Curriculum Statement. Perfectly me tells
the story of a messy young boy who has a neat and tidy sister. With
some effort he manages to become clean, but is still a little
untidy. He decides that his sister may be perfect, but that he is
perfectly himself.

The teaching plans include: a weekly teaching plan, tips and essential information like background knowledge, topical stories, rhymes and songs, complete daily step-by-step lessons and assessment tasks.
The Teacher’s Guide has been adapted according to the latest CAPS requirements of 2019.
The NEW ALL-IN-ONE GRADE R GRADED READING SERIES takes learners on
a reading adventure and has been compiled to enrich reading, to
foster an interest in books and reading, and to assist learners in
improving their vocabulary and language. The visual material
reflects the race demography in South Africa and is truly South
African so that learners are able to associate with the content.
The readers are graded from easy to read language (levels 1-4) to
more difficult reading (levels 5-8). The reasoning questions are
based on this grading to ensure progression and reading success.
There are 40 readers - 1 reader per teaching week, i.e. ten readers
per term. The initial sounds and sight words that are being learnt
correspond with the sounds and phonics that Grade R learners should
start to recognise and know according to CAPS. The teaching plan on
