The second activity book for pre-schoolers expands on themes covered in the first book with thirty additional 2-D and 3-D full-colour activities. A removable manual in the middle of the book gives practical hints for each activity and theme. Hints are for example given for movement activities, songs and rhymes, and imparting general background knowledge. The manual also gives guidelines for tackling the craft activities. Themes include "Insects", "Water", "My clothes and body", "Farm animals", "Animals that live in and outside of water", and many more. Given the vast differences in the physical and emotional development of pre- school children of different ages, hints are graded according to tots, toddlers and young children advancing towards Grade R and Grade 1. The Activity Book for Pre-schoolers 1 and 2 contain all the material you need to teach children from 18 months to five years old. These books are also used in Grade RR (group 3).
The manual consists of lessons plans for each day and has been compiled according to the NCF for Children Birth to Four Years to assist caregivers, teachers, practitioners and parents in educating tots, toddlers and children. It contains a spider diagram at the start of the week, a circle activity (with two supplementary activities) in which the child does activities and a story for each day. It contains a Cooking fun activity in which the child makes edible objects and a puppet theatre story.
