Extended cut of the third film in the camcorder horror franchise. A prequel to the first two films, this instalment goes back to Katie (Katie Featherstone)'s childhood in the late 1980s. Katie and her sister, Kristi (Sprague Grayden), still living with their parents in the family home, make their first contact with the spirit, Bloody Mary. Mary, who so mercilessly haunted the adult Katie in the first two films, is at first a friendly, if strange, presence. However, as time goes on, her unseen presence begins to torment the two girls. Much of the ensuing chaos is - as in the first two films - captured on video.
Ben Wheatley directs this dark British thriller/horror starring Neil Maskell. Former soldier Jay (Maskell) works alongside his partner Justin (Ben Crompton) as a hitman. When problems erupt in Jay's marriage and personal life, the strain has a devastating effect as he abandons any semblance of morality or humanity and becomes consumed by the violence and depravity of his work.

'Twilight' director Catherine Hardwicke directs this Gothic retelling of the classic Grimm Brothers fairy tale. Amanda Seyfried stars as Valerie, a beautiful young woman whose parents have arranged a match for her with the wealthy Henry (Max Irons). But Valerie is in love with the handsome young Peter (Shiloh Fernandez), and the two plan to run away together. However, a werewolf attack on Valerie's sister throws their plans into disarray. The villagers turn to werewolf hunter Father Solomon (Gary Oldman) to protect them, but as the death toll continues to rise they are horrified to discover that the wolf, who takes human form by day, is living among them.

Anna Biller directs this comedy horror starring Samantha Robinson, Jeffrey Vincent Parise and Laura Waddell which pays homage to the Technicolor thrillers of the 1960s and 70s. A young and beautiful witch named Elaine (Robinson) uses her magic to devise spells and craft concoctions which will grant her what she desires: a man who loves her. Inconveniently however, her creations work too well and every man she seduces ends up dead. She finally finds the perfect man for her, but her willful desire to feel loved may send her over the edge and into a heady brew of passion, madness and death.
First time director Fede Alvarez helms this reworking of Sam Raimi's 1981 cult horror. In an effort to straighten out their drug-ravaged friend Mia (Jane Levy), a group of five 20-somethings decide to decamp to an isolated backwoods cabin in the mountains of Tennessee. Once there, however, the group find themselves beset by demons from the nearby woods when they begin reading from an unearthed Book of the Dead.
The seventh outing in the classic slasher horror franchise sees the return of chainsaw-wielding killer Leatherface. Alexandra Daddario stars as Heather, a young woman who travels to Texas with her boyfriend Ryan (Trey Songz) and two other friends to collect a family inheritance. On arrival, the friends realise to their horror that Heather's legacy includes the unwanted attentions of crazed murderer Leatherface (Dan Yeager) and his cannibalistic clan. The film features a cameo appearance from Gunnar Hansen, who played Leatherface in the original 1974 film.
A Hammer horror classic starring Christopher Lee as Rasputin, the monk who the Russian Tsarina takes under her wing. The story begins with Rasputin, after using his powers to cure an innkeeper's wife, throwing a party, raping the innkeeper's daughter and cutting off the hand of her suitor. He then refuses to apologise to the Abbot of his monastery and leaves for St Petersburg, deciding to use his faith-healing powers for his own hedonistic ends. It is here that he eventually wangles his way into the Tsarina's court and she allows him more and more power.
Supernatural horror from 'Paranormal Activity' creator Oren Peli. Six 'extreme tourists' hire a tour guide to take them into the abandoned city of Pripyat, the former residence of workers at the Chernobyl nuclear reactor. However, as they set out to explore the city they become separated from their guide, and quickly discover they are not alone.
In this sequel to 'Dracula' (1958), four English tourists are holidaying in the Carpathians when they meet the unconventional Father Sandor (Andrew Keir) at an inn. He warns them to avoid the local castle if they value their lives, but the next day the quartet find themselves stranded in the mountains after their driver abandons them. When a driverless carriage arrives they board it, intending to travel to the nearest village. However, the carriage instead takes them to the very castle which Sandor warned them against, where they are welcomed by Klove (Philip Latham), sinister manservant of Count Dracula (Christopher Lee)...
David Robert Mitchell writes and directs this psychological horror. Maika Monroe stars as 19-year-old Jay who, after a sexual encounter with her boyfriend, finds that a mysterious curse has been passed on to her. As she begins to experience terrifying visions and the feeling that she is being followed wherever she goes, she turns to her group of close friends for help. Can they solve the mystery of the deadly curse before its too late?

Ocean-bound horror in which a day's sailing goes horribly wrong for a group of friends. Setting sail on a yacht with her friends, Jess (Melissa George) has a gut feeling that something is about to go wrong. Although the ship appears to bear all the hallmarks of a 'Marie Celeste', the coming days will see the group in a desperate fight, as each tries to evade the evil presence intent on hunting them down one by one.
Italian horror maestro Michele Soavi presents this gothic tale of satanic rituals and end-of-the-millenium apocalypse. A schoolteacher (Kelly Leigh Curtis) is inducted into the Sect of the Faceless Ones, seduced by the charisma of its leader (Herbert Lom), and faces a series of terrifying ceremonies and ritualistic killings.
Horror co-written and directed by Gilbert Adler. After her brother Caleb (Corey Feldman) goes missing, Katherine Verdoux (Erika Eleniak) seeks the help of private eye Rafe Guttman (Dennis Miller) to try and track him down. Rafe soon discovers Caleb is under the spell of Madame Lilith (Angie Everhart), a powerful vampire who runs a seedy brothel on the edge of town. Bravely setting out on a dangerous rescue mission, Rafe and Katherine must overcome the full force of Lilith and her evil followers as they attempt to bring Caleb back alive.
Australian zombie horror. Following a meteor shower a vast number of the population turn into flesh-eating zombies. When his wife and daughter succumb to the apocalypse, mechanic Barry (Jay Gallagher) makes his way across the outback to rescue his sister Brooke (Bianca Bradey), though he is unaware she has been kidnapped by an experimental scientist known as The Doc (Berryn Schwerdt). Along the way Barry meets fellow survivor Benny (Leon Burchill) and the two team up as they battle their way through hordes of zombies.
Tom Hiddleston, Tilda Swinton and Mia Wasikowska star in this vampire drama written and directed by Jim Jarmusch. Detroit-based musician Adam (Hiddleston) is a centuries-old vampire who has become disenchanted with the technologically-advanced modern world. Meanwhile, his wife Eve (Swinton) has adapted well to her ever-changing surroundings and is enjoying life in Tangier. As Adam sinks into depression, Eve returns to him, sensing his despair, and the two rekindle their romance. However, the arrival of Eve's younger sister Ava (Wasikowska) threatens their relationship. The film also stars John Hurt and Anton Yelchin.
Horror anthology. Architect Walter Craig (Mervyn Johns) arrives at country house Pilgrim Farm thinking that he has been hired to remodel it. He finds the building strangely familiar, and upon entering discovers that he recognizes all of the house's occupants from a recurring nightmare he has experienced. One by one, everyone present relates their own horrific nightmare: Grainger (Anthony Baird) dreams that he is a racing driver recuperating from an accident; teenager Sally O'Hara (Sally Ann Howes) dreams of a Christmas party where she discovers a lone crying child; Joan Courtland (Googie Withers) relates a story of an antique mirror linked to an ancient murder; the next story concerns two golfers who vie murderously for the attention of a young lady; and the final story features a ventriloquist (Michael Redgrave) whose dummy comes to life. |
