They are an opaque ink with excellent coverage and by adding Speedball’s Fabric Block Printing Transparent Extender you can create transparent colours while maintain the inks viscosity.These inks are designed to print onto smooth fabrics that do not possess a heavy texture or stretch such as cotton, linen, broadcloth or denim. Nylon and canvas are not recommended. Your printing block can be lino, wood or any similar surface and soft rubber rollers or brayers are ideally suited for inking the block.Speedball’s Fabric Block Printing Inks will dry to the touch overnight depending on your climate and they do not require any setting with heat. This print medium by Schmincke is made from a mixture of stand oil, linseed oil and dammar resin. Designed for use with Mussini Oils, it will make oil and resin-oil colors suitable for relief or intaglio printmaking. It should be added to the oil color to a ratio of 1:1 and mixed in thoroughly.

Schmincke College Linol colours are ideal for making colourful linoprints on surfaces such as paper, felt, and cardboard, but can also be used for wood engraving and material prints on cork, vulcanized rubber, or foamed polystyrene. This starter set contains five odourless and water-mixable linoprinting colours. These inks dry to a wipe-resistant finish within approximately 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the application.

The ink can easily be cleaned from printing blocks and tools using just water.
