Speedball’s Speedy-Carve Blocks are designed for relief printmaking. They have a soft, putty-like surface which is easier to cut than traditional linoleum, and are designed for use with lino-cutting tools. As they are flexible, Speedy-Carve Blocks can be used to print onto flat or curved surfaces.As in lino-cutting, the desired design is cut in reverse into the surface of the block with gouges or knives. Water-soluble or oil-based ink is then transferred to the raised, uncut areas of the block using a roller/brayer. The design can be printed onto paper or fabric, in a press or by hand. Prints can be re-soaked immediately after printing if handled carefully. Once the print is dry, Akua Intaglio is permanent. Ink will never skin or harden in the jar or the ink slab, meaning minimal ink is wasted. Wiping the plate with Akua Intaglio is easier than wiping oil-based ink, meaning you need to spend less time cleaning up.

Speedball Professional Relief Inks are lightfast and archival oil-based printmaking inks which can be washed up with just soap and water. These inks are designed for all types of relief printing, especially linocut and woodcut.This is an 8oz (236.5ml) tin of Ultramarine Blue (PB29, Speedball Lightfastness rating I). It is suitable for mixing with any of the Speedball Professional Relief Ink colours. To increase the transparency of this ink, add Speedball Professional Relief Transparent Base. The ink can be stiffened with talc or magnesium carbonate, and thinned with water. Because the ink can be thinned with water, it is preferable to print onto dry paper.

Created from pigments ground and milled to the perfect consistency for block/relief printing, Speedball Watersoluble Block Printing Inks print in bold colour and dry to a rich, satin finish. They possess excellent tack ensuring even coverage and consistently spectacular results.

All colours clean up easily with soap and water and are safe to use in the classroom. Lightfastness varies from fair to excellent, except for the fluorescents, which have poor lightfastness.

Specially formulated to be easier to see on plate and stone than that which you would mix from lump or powdered gum, and to keep fresh for longer. Gum arabic is used in various ways in lithography. For image processing and image etching and for plate and stone masking and protecting.

The Essdee Soft Lino Roller is designed for use in relief printmaking, and is an effective tool for inking lino sheets and softer surfaces such as Speedball Speedy Carve Blocks.Developed for relief printing, this softer 40 shore synthetic rubber roller is resistant to printers chemicals and not affected by exposure to daylight. Designed to give a more compliant coverage than hard rubber material, it is more forgiving on uneven surfaces. It is a favourite with certain printing methods but needs extra care in storage to prevent indentation to its soft surface.

Made from soft, natural latex gum rubber with a precision-ground finish, Speedball Soft Rubber Brayers are ideal for use with linoleum, vinyl, or wood blocks.  The heavy-duty steel frame provides enhanced durability, and the flexibility of the 40/42 durometer rubber ensures for even ink distribution especially over uneven surfaces. The roller diameter is 30mm and the widths range from 1.5in/38mm to 6in/150mm.  Designed for use with water based and oil based inks. Care should be taken with the rubber rollers when cleaning and storing.  Lightly dust with talc to avoid the surface becoming sticky and ensure the surface of the roller is not pressing against anything when put away.
