Essdee have designed a roller specifically for block printing onto textiles and fabric. This absorbent fabric roller is designed to pick-up and transfer thinner water-based ink, like screen printing ink or fabric paint, which would be too slippery for a normal roller, and transfer it to a Lino block for printing. Liquid Extender is used to thin Akua Liquid Pigment if it has become too thick - for instance, it will re-constitute “air thickened” ink. Can be used with Akua Liquid Pigment but not with Akua Intaglio Ink. It - has a thick consistency and is transparent in colour. - Adding water to Akua Liquid Pigment Inks is not advisable as water will cause ink to dry on the monotype plate and prevent it from releasing onto dry paper. Use the Extender directly with the colours on the palette that have become too thick. It can also be added to Akua Liquid Pigment to dilute it and create more transparency without having an effect on the consistency.

The water-based, high-quality aqua-Linoprint colours contain natural binders such as gum Arabic as well as organic/inorganic pigments. They are easy to apply due to optimum open-times and result in even, sharp prints with fast drying times (wipe-resistant after approx. 15 minutes).

All colours offer maximum light fastness (4 and 5 stars) and an excellent intensity (especially black). The formulation for the colours in tubes and jars is the same. Due to its fluid consistency all aqua-Linoprint colours can easily be applied to different surfaces such as paper, felt, cardboard and suitable also for wood engraving and printing with various materials.

The smooth colours are of pleasant odour and can be overprinted with other colours. They are intermixable, ready to use and can be diluted with water.

Speedball Supergraphic Black Ink is the flagship colour in the Speedball Professional Relief Ink range.
