This 365-day devotional assists couples to prioritize prayer together. By combining a passage from Scripture with a pertinent, heartfelt prayer, and thought-provoking reflection, it will give couples prayers they can say together on relevant topics. These themes bring focus and over time, will allow couples to develop stronger bonds with each other. The clich is true: couples who pray together, stay together. To Have and To Hold benefits those who are struggling as well as those enthusiastic about keeping their marriage sacred and strong, with the awareness that all marriages have struggles. Most relationships have cyclical peaks and valleys. This devotional integrates suggestions that the author has acquired through The Third Option program, one that assists couples at strengthening their marriage.

The heavenly meditator has the happiest life in the world, and the most enriching commerce with the celestial Indies, from whence he returns laden with an unseen store of immortal joy, and spiritual consolation. As he continues to meditate on the great things of God, such amazing plenitudes are displayed before his eye sufficient subjects for meditation through eternity itself. Meditation returns with a good account of the good land and produces refreshing grapes pulled from the true VINE. Here the weary soul retires to rest in the bosom of the promise, in the love of God and drinks at the river before the throne as waters that flow away. O the high estate of the sons of God in meditation They walk in the fields of glory, associate with the angels of light, and hold communion with God himself Thus having been in the mount with God, their soul is beautified; thus, their face shines, and their mind seems as if in heaven, nobly opposing the base practices of the men of the world.

Jeanne-Marie Bouvier de la Motte-Guyon (commonly known as Madame Guyon) was a French mystic and one of the key advocates of Quietism. Quietism was considered heretical by the Roman Catholic Church, and she was imprisoned from 1695 to 1703 after publishing a book on the topic, A Short and Easy Method of Prayer. Guyon believed that one should pray all the time, and that in whatever one does, one should be spending time with God.
2014 Reprint of 1962 Edition. Full facsimile of the original edition, not reproduced with Optical Recognition Software. Originally published as "Preacher and Prayer," this title is an established classic in the literature of prayer in the Christian tradition. Trained as a lawyer, but called to ministry, Bounds served as an Army chaplain during the Civil War. As far as prayer is concerned, Bounds practiced what he preached. His personal prayer regimen called him to prayer for three hours every morning. Bounds did not consider his time in prayer as idle time, but a time that was effective in changing the world through the power and grace of God. Read Bounds' "Power Through Prayer" to enrich your understanding of God's work in the world. "Power through Prayer" was written especially to convict, exhort, and encourage those who preach God's word that the secret of successful ministry is prayer and communion with the Lord. The book's twenty chapters have titles like "Men of Prayer Needed," "Our Sufficiency is of God," "Prayer, the Great Essential," "Examples of Praying Men," and "Heart Preparation Necessary." Characteristic of all books by this author, each chapter begins with one or more inspiring quotations from the writings of others who have realized the importance of prayer and its power to change the world. The simple clarion call to "Pray Pray Pray " rings throughout the book.
This heart searching best-selling classic is a book for every Pastor, Missionary, and devout Christian. It deals with the deep things of God and the riches of His grace.

Tips and suggestions are offered for successfully tailoring these to your setting. Prayers are grouped in four categories: 1) Prayers for Sharing Hearts--Opening and closing reflections with spaces for participants to share what's on their hearts; 2) Longer Reflections--Services designed for deeper sharing; 3) Benedictions & Prayers--Short texts for special occasions and times when heart-sharing won't be done; 4) Readings & Poems--supplemental texts.
In the latest installment of "Liguori Wisdom Series," Sister Agnes Cunningham brings Christians closer to Jesus with excerpts from the writings of St Augustine. Each writing is paired with a Scripture quotation, reflection, a prayer and a spiritual activity for the day. St Augustine is one of the most influential Fathers of the Church and in his search for truth, St Augustine's writings and ponderings tells a wonderful story of conversion, reminding us of our own daily conversions.
The Apostle Paul stated publicly, "To the Jew I became like a Jew to win the Jews... To those not having the law I became like one not having the law, so as to win those not having the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some" (1Cor.9:20-22 TNIV.) Just as the Apostle Paul unfortunately had to live through, suffer, literally "BECOME THE PERSON he was called to witness to in order that he would be able to understand and help them with their problem," Pastor Willie, comparable to Paul, also live through, suffered, struggled with crack cocaine addiction, homelesness and as a result he understands the deception, complications, rejection, misery, pain and agony that crack cocaine addicts go through in their search for deliverance. For those reasons God has also called him into ministry with the purpose of using Pastor Willie's testimony, knowledge, struggles, and compassion for the drug addicted to help deliver, witness and bring them into a happy, drug free, praise worthy relationship with God The truth is that God knows "when people are in "bondage" (Ex2:23; 6:5-6), held a slave to anyone or anything that they will neglect to praise and serve him." (See Ex.6:9). That why I fearlessly say to the evil spirit of crack cocaine influence, "Demon spirit of crack cocaine Bondage let my people go that THEY MAY PRAISE THE LORD " (See Ex. 1:13-14; 3:7-12; 2:23; 8:1, 20; 9:1). Are you sick are tired of going in and out of rehabs only to relapse shortly afterward being released, tired of being confused about why you're or a love is having such a hard time tired breaking the addiction, tired of prostituting yourself, and being viewed as weak and pathedic by the world? Well, your deliverance is moments away
THE YOGA SUTRAS OF PATANJALI "The Book of the Spiritual Man" An Interpretation By Charles Johnston The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali are in themselves exceedingly brief, less than ten pages of large type in the original. Yet they contain the essence of practical wisdom, set forth in admirable order and detail. The theme, if the present interpreter be right, is the great regeneration, the birth of the spiritual from the psychical man: the same theme which Paul so wisely and eloquently set forth in writing to his disciples in Corinth, the theme of all mystics in all lands.

2013 Reprint of 1952 Newman Press Second Edition. Exact facsimile of the original edition, not reproduced with Optical Recognition Software. This is one of the great classical medieval English works of devotion. Little is known of the author except that she was a recluse who lived in a cell attached to the church of St. Julian at Norwich. In 1373 she received sixteen private revelations from the Lord, dealing with his Passion, the truths of the Faith and the advancement of her own spiritual life. The work reveals a mind that has penetrated deeply to the mysteries of the Catholic religion, both on its doctrinal and its personal sides. Julian of Norwich was a very spiritual, devout soul, deeply sensitive to the beauty of holiness and centered wholeheartedly on the love and service of God. Although the work attracted little attention when it first appeared, it has since become one of the most famous books dealing with divine communications ever written.

"Families are living stories. They tell us where we came from, guide us as we live our lives, and help us see who we could become. Especially priceless are the lives and words of those who came before us. From Christ-followers living near the time of the apostles to the early defenders of the faith, we are enriched by the wise advice and inspiring examples of our Christian ancestors. In the face of heresy and persecution, these saints lived lives faithful to the gospel story. The Book of Saints: The Early Era is a devotional gateway to the thoughts and insights of church leaders and teachers who lived before the middle of the fourth century AD. Living in a pagan world, much like our own, these saintly persons have much to say to us today. Their words and life stories, along with prayers and Scripture selections, are brought together in this book to inspire and challenge us to a life of love and holiness, the great themes of our family story."
