The R&F Blending Medium is designed to be used with R&F Pigment Sticks and is available in jars or in stick form. Both the jars and the sticks are made from an uncoloured version of the base for the R&F pigment sticks (a solvent-free blend of Linseed Oil and Natural Waxes). Used with coloured sticks, they increase transparency, add body, extend and blend the oil paint. They are available with or without a cobalt siccative which will speed the drying time of any oil paint or paint stick. The blending medium with the added drier will have an effect on the colour of any oil paint or oil bar it is used with, so it is advisable to apply the medium to the painting support, followed by the paint. This is a 237ml (8oz) tub of R&F Blending Medium with an added cobalt drier.youtube=xBeGfwlJRM8
Safflower oil is a pale, slow-drying oil which can be used to brighten and thin oil paints. As it is a paler yellow than linseed oil, paler pigments (whites and pale blues especially) maintain their brightness when mixed with safflower oil.Paints thinned with this product should not be used under faster drying layers, e.g. Fast Drying Medium, earth colours etc.
Artisan Water Mixable Oil Colour has a specific Thinner for the range. The purpose of Artisan is to be able to avoid the use of hazardous solvents. Although water is suitable as a diluent for the colour, it's speedy evaporation can make the colour thicken upon the palette much quicker than conventional oil colour would when used with turpentine. To help with this we have developed a Thinner to dilute Artisan colours. This can be used instead of water or combined with it. It also provides a more oily consistency which is preferred by some painters and as it does not form an emulsion wth the colour there is less colour change than there would be when using water. Thinner can be combined with Artisan oils to make your own mediums. To ensure that you avoid over thinning the colour, Thinners should be combined with any Artisan medium for very dilute uses.
A fast evaporating, highly refined essential oil with the strongest thinning and brush cleaning power of all Artists’ grade solvents. Suitable for removing varnish (including Dammar Varnish). Keep tightly closed and away from light to prevent oxidation. Do not use if it has thickened.

Portuguese Turpentine is a colorless solvent distilled from pine sap. It is used to thin oil paint and to clean various printmaking tools of oil-based ink. Michael Harding use this genuine Portuguese Maritime Turpentine to produce their oil mediums. It generally speeds the drying time of oil paint, and thus is especially useful for underpainting. Paints mixed with this Turpentine will dry slightly matte.
Dilutes oil colour to create thin, quick-drying washes in the early stages of painting. Also used to clean brushes.
