Frank D. Macchia argues that the Son of God baptized (and continues
to baptize) humanity in the Spirit by pouring forth the Spirit on
the Day of Pentecost. All four Gospels and the book of Acts
describe how the Son is sent of the Father and empowered by the
Spirit to fulfil this mission; Macchia in turn claims that Christ
succeeds by incorporating others into himself and into the love of
the Father. The Spirit-Baptized Church proposes a richly
pneumatological ecclesiology that is dominated by a Pentecostal
confessional concern, while also open to a larger ecumenical
conversation. The volume focuses not only on the dogmatic
(Trinitarian) foundations and election processes of the
Spirit-baptized church, but also on its marks and witnessing
practices. As an exceptionally detailed study of the
Spirit-baptismal metaphor, this volume is a valuable resource for
scholars of ecclesiology, Pentecostalism, and systematic theology.
The ministry of the apostle is the linchpin ministry of the church,
and without it the church cannot become what it is called to be.
While the world and much of the church has focused on scandals and
problems in the church, that which is now being called 'The New
Apostolic Reformation' emerged and quickly became not only the
fastest growing part of the church, but the fastest growing
religious movement of any kind on the earth. For this reason the
subject addressed by this book is one of the most important for our
times.
Satisfy the hunger in your heart An exciting and insightful journey
into the visionary world of "The Seer." The prophetic movements in
church history and in contemporary life are fed by two mighty
streams: "the prophet, " whose revelation is primarily verbal"the
seer, " whose revelation is more visionaryWhile the role of the
prophet is familiar, less is known about "The Seer" dimension. To
many people, these visionary prophets remain mysterious,
other-worldly, and even strange. Knowledge dispels
misunderstanding, and you will discover the prophetic power of
dreams, visions, and life under the open heavens. Questions
answered include: How does visionary revelation happen? Can it be
trusted?Where does it fit into your life and today's church? Can any
believer become a seer? Is it a prophetic dimension reserved for
the spiritually-gifted?"The Seer" will move your heart and stir up
your hunger for intimacy with God because the seer's goal is to
reveal the person of Christ Jesus--to you, today.
Concerned that so many Christians have not reached their spiritual
potential, Dr. Tim Bagwell shares the revelation he has received to
help you come to the place of Possessing Your Prophetic Promise.
