"Bake Off meets Downton Abbey for preschoolers' - The Times A
stunning, nostalgic picture book about a beautiful hotel and the
people who stay, live and work there. Perfect for children 4+. If
you ever go to the great city of Delaunay, take a left at the
Duchess's palace and cross the Bridge of Spires, and here you will
find The Incredible Hotel. Everything runs like clockwork, thanks
to Stefan the kitchen porter, who brews the coffee every morning,
and dreams of being a chef. Until the morning of the Grand Ball,
when a fire starts in the kitchen just as the Duchess of Delaunay
arrives... can Stefan save the day? With a style that evokes Wes
Anderson-esque imaginary worlds, this is a timeless tale to read
again and again from the award winning illustrator of 'JOY'. Each
time you read it you will notice new details - look out for the cat
and mouse hiding on every page, who have their own little story to
tell!
Few books have been as universally cherished by children and adults
alike as The Little Prince. A beautiful gift collection of quotes
from the original translation by Katherine Woods, featuring
full-colour illustrations. A pilot stranded in the desert awakes
one morning to see the most extraordinary little fellow standing
before him. “Please…’ asks the stranger, “draw me a
sheep…’ The Little Prince has been capturing the hearts of
readers around the world since its publication in 1943 – this new
collection of quotes features favourite words of wisdom from
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s lyrical, whimsical text. Quotes are
drawn from the original translation by Katherine Woods, a favourite
with fans. With subjects covering childhood, sorrow, friendship,
love and more, this collection has something for everyone.
Featuring original colour illustrations by the author. Antoine de
Saint-Exupéry (1900-1944) was born in Lyons, France. He wrote The
Little Prince in the United States during a two-year self-imposed
exile from occupied France. A year after the book’s publication
in 1943, Saint-Exupéry disappeared over the Mediterranean while
flying a reconnaissance mission for his French air squadron. Best
known throughout the world as the author and illustrator of The
Little Prince, Saint-Exupéry wrote several other books that have
also become classics of world literature. Katherine Woods
(1886-1968) produced the original English translation of The Little
Prince in 1943. It was later followed by several other English
translations, but her classic translation is treasured by fans and
is often considered to be the definitive English translation. Her
poetic translation perfectly captures the enchantment and charm of
Saint-Exupéry’s storytelling.

Now available as a board book: the award-winning illustrated
bedtime story about a little girl who imagines what it would be
like to have a dinosaur of her very own. As read by Eddie Redmayne
for CBeebies Christmas Day Bedtime Story WINNER of the 'Best
Preschool Book' - Made For Mums Awards 2018 A little girl dreams of
having her very own pet. But what kind of animal would make the
best companion? A mouse is too small; a cat is too ordinary; and a
fish is too... wet! As she plays with her toy dinosaur, inspiration
strikes. What about a real, live dinosaur? She could ride it to
school. It would need lots of food to eat, a swimming pool to drink
from, and a dino flap so it could come and go. At the end of a day
spent busily imagining, the girl trudges up to bed with her little
plastic dinosaur. As she falls asleep, the dinosaur from her
daydreams stands in the garden with its head poking through the
bedroom window, making her dreams come true.
