Please remember that the Mica particles in this ground are heavy, and will sink to the bottom of the pot over time. It is therefore a great idea to mix the gesso with a palette knife before use, just to get the Mica back in suspension.

Art Spectrum Colourfix Primer is a fine tooth, quick drying acrylic primer which bonds agressively to practically any clean, dry surface - all types of papers (300 gsm or heavier recommended), canvas, card, ply, plastic, glass, timber, ceramic and metal. Suitable for a wide range of applications including pastels, charcoal, pencils, inks, acrylics, gouache or even watercolours.

Holbein has created their Coloured Acrylic Gesso to provide artists with a unique range of acrylic grounds. They can be used as a traditional underpainting on all surfaces, including canvas, paper, cloth, wood, stone, and primed metal. The gesso also acts as an extremely opaque and ultra-matt finish acrylic paint medium.

Holbein Colored Gesso is highly pigmented, with an extremely smooth texture. It can be mixed with any acrylic paint or medium and finishes to a matte surface. It may be overpainted with water-based or oil-based colours or pastels.

On some of these surfaces it is recommended a basecoat of the Polyurethane Primer (62.601) for best results. Premium colours are flexible and exceptionally durable and permit prolonged exposure to weather without fading or losing their brilliance.

Premium colours have been formulated with micronized, permanent pigments and an extremely resistant, exterior grade hybrid resin-polyurethane base, which withstands impacts, resists chipping and cracking, as well as direct exposure to heat and outdoor elements without cracking or fading, and is fuel residue proof up to a least 35% Nitro.

AV Premium colours have superior flow, they are self-levelling and brush on with exceptional ease. For
airbrushing, the colours can be used directly from the bottle when using a nozzle size 0,3. For the metallic colours some dilution might be necessary, and for smaller nozzles (O.2mm or less) the use of the Reducer (62.068) may be required. The recommended compressor setting is 30-60psi (2-4 bar).

The range consists of 20 bright opaque colours, 23 dazzling metallics and fluorescents, and 9 shimmering transparent Candy Colours. All colours are as suitable for detail work as for covering large surfaces and can be applied by brush as well as by airbrush.

The range is complete with 8 auxiliary products including the Transparent Basecoat and the Reducer, Primer, Varnishes and Drying Retarder. For an automotive refinishing and as an extra protective final coating, we recommend a catalyzed urethane clear varnish (spray can or airbrush).

Transparent, lightfast and age-resistant primer for acrylic and oil colours as well as pastels. The elastic film of the clear gesso dries matt and is water-resistant.    Application:   Transparent primer is ready for use, may also be diluted with water (max.10%) and  should be applied 3-4 times with a brush on your surface.The temperature of the object should not be less than 8°C. For extremely absorbent surfaces like a natural canvas  a sizing with size/pre-primer is recommended.    May be tinted with transparent acrylic colours.   Available in 500 ml jar

Instructions:
1. Stir contents before use.
2. Surface to be primed should be clean and free of loose particles.
3. Do not size ground before application. When final coat is thoroughly dry, a second may be applied. Ready for use after 24 hours
4. Glossy or smooth surfaces should be slightly roughed to improve adhesion before applying primer.
Avoid exposure to frost and do not apply at temperatures below 5C.
