Speedball Professional Relief Inks are lightfast and archival oil-based printmaking inks which can be washed up with just soap and water. These inks are designed for all types of relief printing, especially linocut and woodcut.This is an 8oz (236.5ml) tin of Ultramarine Blue (PB29, Speedball Lightfastness rating I). It is suitable for mixing with any of the Speedball Professional Relief Ink colours. To increase the transparency of this ink, add Speedball Professional Relief Transparent Base. The ink can be stiffened with talc or magnesium carbonate, and thinned with water. Because the ink can be thinned with water, it is preferable to print onto dry paper.

Created from pigments ground and milled to the perfect consistency for block/relief printing, Speedball Watersoluble Block Printing Inks print in bold colour and dry to a rich, satin finish. They possess excellent tack ensuring even coverage and consistently spectacular results.

Great for printing with linoleum, wood or soft block surfaces, flexible printing plates or polyfoam. Available in 16 brilliant colours, 5 metallics and 6 fluorescents. All colours clean up easily with soap and water and are safe to use in the classroom. Lightfastness varies from fair to excellent, except for the fluorescents, which have poor lightfastness.

Slama Press Ball Graphic Press is a beautifully crafted hand printing press designed and manufactured in the Czech Republic. It was developed by Milos Slama whilst searching for a solution to the printing of his reduction linocuts in various sizes as well as something that was portable and affordable. Slama Press opens up the possibility of working across a wide variety of print formats and paper types.

Based on the ball bearing baren, a modern interpretation of a traditional Japanese tool but with added weight, it makes light work of burnishing a relief print. The freely rotating ball bearings create multiple pressure points evenly across the disc and the disc itself rotates around a central axis as you move across the paper. In addition, the 10mm ball bearings on the large Slama Press allow prints to be taken on heavier paper weights. The presses can take relief prints, drypoints, etchings and lithographs.

These are the additional 1kg weights to increase the overall pressure the press can exert. The weight can be slotted on top of the press, and is suitable for the large presses only. Multiple weights can be added.

Fine woven wool flannel blanket 2.4mm/1/16thin thick. The woven blanket is more durable and will hold it's shape for longer than a compressed felt. The fronting blanket is designed to lie next to the paper when printing and will soak up water and size from the paper. To protect your blanket please ensure you bevel your metal plates if they are 1mm or thicker. Regular cold/delicate wash with a wool detergent will ensure years of use.

Well engineered portable presses from Italy with solid steel rollers and 3mm thick metal bed. Lifting up the top roller is for relief printing only, you will not be able to print anything but thinner intaglio plates on this press, optimally up to 1mm metal with a decent bevel on or thinner 0.8mm plates like our econimy zinc or transparent printing plates. The Fome presses work well for line etching, drypoint, monoprint and relief.It must be stressed that these small press will not print with the same pressure as a larger heavier studio press. If you have designed your prints with your plates, inks, paper using a large heavy press, you will not necessarily be able to reproduce them on these small presses. E.C. Lyons Roulettes are made in the US, and are recognised across the world as the finest roulettes available. Designed to be used in intaglio printmaking processes the rotating drum at the head of the tool will stipple the plate surface with dots or lines. These small impressions will hold ink and appear darker in the finished print. They can be used for mark making in their own right or for making corrections to areas of tone on the plate.

Oval shaped needle made of high carbon tool steel. and made to be resharpen. These etching needles are set in a wooden handle the steel shaft being oval in shape and chopped at an angle to give an oval profile. As you move the tool through the ground you can rotate the shaft and change the thickness of line. It can create lines that swell and contract.

Economical zinc plate for etching, unpolished, and unbacked. The plate is 0.8mm thick which makes it good for use with small tabletop presses. The zinc has a fine milled finish, ready to polish and degrease for use with traditional resists and grounds.

Great for use with B.I.G. etching grounds or with acrylic grounds. These etching plates are also suitable for non-etched intaglio techniques such as drypoint and engraving.

The back of the plate will require the application of an acid-resistant stop out.

Permaset print paste (reducer) is an uncoloured base for achieving a more transparent shade - designed for use with Permaset Aqua water-based screenprinting inks.

The Lawrence Dabber is a traditional tool for inking an etching plate or applying grounds. The dabber is made of leather and has a wooden handle. Dab the leather pad onto the ground or ink to transfer it to the plate. This process is especially useful for very deeply bitten plates. Available in 2.5in diameter and 3in diameter.

Lawrence Gum Arabic Powder is the pulverised version of lump gum arabic, the natural gum formed from the sap of the acacia tree. It is used in painting as a dilutant and medium for watercolour and gouache, increasing their strength, shine, and transparency. Printmakers will use the gum arabic in solution form for lithography processing and making sugarlift for etching.

Lawrence Gum Arabic Powder is easily mixed with distilled water, you can use tap water, but regional variations may alter the results slightly. Once mixed keep refrigerated.
