The yellows were first used by artist’s in the 1840. Claude Monet’s famous yellow hues for example are painted in cadmium. The reds are relatively modern pigments only becoming commercially available in 1919.

It also enhances flexibility and encourages levelling on the painted surface. Can be diluted with artists' turpentine to increase the flow of the paint. It is resistant to yellowing

Dalas Artists' Clear Varnish is a protective coat for artists oil and acrylic colour. It provides UV protection as well enhances the appearance of the colour medium.
