The belief in telepathy is still widely held and yet it remains much disputed by scientists. Roger Luckhurst explores the origins of the term in the late nineteenth century. Telepathy mixed physical and mental sciences, new technologies and old superstitions, and it fascinated many famous people in the late Victorian era: Sigmund Freud, Thomas Huxley, Henry James, Robert Louis Stevenson, and Oscar Wilde. This is an exciting and accessible study, written for general readers as much as scholars and students.

Forgiveness is the key to happiness--but how do you actually do it? When we begin to practice forgiveness, the world becomes a better place to live. Forgiveness is essential to releasing fear and living in peace. In fact, forgiveness is the single most important thing we can do to create a life of love and happiness. Without it, we are destined to live in hurt, anger and upset. With it, all the gifts and miracles of God's love flow into our lives. If you've tried to forgive in the past and been unable to, you're not alone. Forgiveness is not always an easy task, and most of us have no real idea of how to go about it anyway. Although each of the world's important religions and spiritual pathways agrees that forgiveness is essential, there is very little practical information out there about how to actually forgive. Forgiveness is the dirty little secret of Christians, spiritual people, and truth seekers everywhere. We all nod our heads and agree that forgiveness is important, but when it comes right down to it, most of us have no idea how to really do it. Forgiveness is actually an easy and pleasurable process once you understand it. Forgiveness Is the Key to Happiness gives you the essential tools you need to forgive anyone, from the smallest of affronts to the really huge betrayals and damage we all experience at least occasionally in our lives. "Raising Abel" assumes that the Bible would not bother telling us about a cunning serpent, a murderous brother, or a resinous gopher tree, if they didn't have something to do with the deeper topic of faith. After all, isn't the Bible "the authority" on faith? Raising Abel explores the most familiar chapters of Genesis, not as a collection of stories of the beginning of time, but as our first and best guide to the subject of faith. The author, as a physician, explains faith within the framework of wellness, dividing the Genesis stories into four parts that answer four questions. The Premise: What does healthy faith look like? (Genesis 1-2) The Problem: What can cause this healthy state to become "diseased"? (Genesis 3-5) The Prescription: What medicine is needed to restore us to a healthy faith? (Genesis 6-9:17) The Practice: What must we do to maintain this healthy faith? (Genesis 9:18-11) "Raising Abel" reassures us that "there is something greater than a perfectly good world; it is an imperfect world plus faith." In a perfect world there would be no need of faith. Get ready to experience faith in a whole new light
Designed to help readers understand the purpose and potential of their existence, "The Cosmic Internet "is a record of the author s direct conversations with the nonphysical aspects of the universe. What is the meaning of our physical
lives? After our physical lives are concluded, will we continue to
exist in some way? Frank DeMarco addresses these important
questions and many more. Within this fascinating work, the author makes it clear that his conversations are not the result of a special gift, but, instead, are the types of communication that are available to anyone who is willing to make the effort. As such, this book not only provides invaluable insights but can also spur a personal investigation into the nature of human life, the purpose of life, and the way in which the universe works."
J.W. Dunne (1866-1949) was an accomplished English aeronautical engineer and a designer of Britian's early military aircraft. His An Experiment with Time, first published in 1927, sparked a great deal of scientific interest in--and controversy about--his new model of multidimensional time. A series of strange, troubling precognitive dreams (including a vision of the then future catastrophic eruption of Mt. Pelee on the island of Martininque in 1902) led Dunne to re-evaluate the meaning and significance of dreams. Could dreams be a blend of memories of past and future events? What was most upsetting about his dreams was that they contradicted the accepted model of time as a series of events flowing only one way: into the future. What if time wasn't like that at all? All of this prompted Dunne to think about time in an entirely new way. To do this, Dunne made, as he put it,"an extremely cautious" investigation in a "rather novel direction." He wanted to outline a provable way of accounting for multiple dimensions and precognition, that is, seeing events before they happen. The result was a challenging scientific theory of the "Infinite Regress," in which time, consciousness, and the universe are seen as serial, existing in four dimensions. Astonishingly, Dunne's proposed model of time accounts for many of life's mysteries: the nature and purpose of dreams, how prophecy works, the immortality of the soul, and the existence of the all-seeing "general observer," the "Witness" behind consciousness (what is now commonly called the Higher Self). Here in print again is the book English playwright and novelist J.B. Priestley called "one of the most fascinating, most curious, and perhaps the most important books of this age."
In these pages, readers will meet people who have had both heartbreaking and heartwarming communication with the other side, providing comforting proof that the deceased stay with their loved ones and continue to share in the joys of their lives.
