Through a chance meeting they are invited to travel on board the private jet of billionaire Lazlo Carreidas. But then they fall victim to a plot to kidnap Carreidas and are captured by Tintin's arch enemy Rastapopoulos. Tintin and the Picaros Bianca Castafiore has been imprisoned by General Tapioca! Also accused of threatening Tapioca's dictatorship, Tintin, Calculus and Haddock jet off to the jungle HQ of the revolutionaries, and hatch a plot surrounding the upcoming carnival and Haddock's sudden and mysterious disgust for whisky. Tintin and Alph-Art In an interview shortly before his death, Herge wrote of the last Tintin adventure: "The plot revolves around a tale of forgers ... The book is set in the world of contemporary art. The narration itself is in the course of evolution. I am still doing my research and I honestly don't know where this story will lead me." Sadly, the tale was never completed, but this unique book gives an insight into the work Herge had done on the project before he died. At the end, Tintin is about to be cast into a living sculpture by a mysterious enemy - one last cliffhanger for the world's best-loved boy journalist. Join the most iconic character in comics as he embarks on extraordinary adventures spanning historical and political events. Still selling over 100,000 copies every year in the UK and having been adapted for the silver screen by Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson in 2011. Herge (Georges Remi) was born in Brussels in 1907. Over the course of 54 years he completed over 20 titles in The Adventures of Tintin series, which is now considered to be one of the greatest, if not the greatest, comics series of all time.

Follow Juney Brown Toes, a young and adventurous Hare, her friends Slow Freddy and Tufty Thomas, and many others, as they spend a remarkable 'Mad March' day, racing, chasing and being chased by friends and enemies alike. What will Juney do when the evil Grey Hound shows up unexpectedly in the middle of a dangerous 'Hare of the Dog' game, and will Farmer, and his daughter Samantha, be of any help to save poor Slow Freddy from the jaws of the Grey Hound! Hare's have been a fascination of mine for sometime. I've rarely seen one! I remember walking above Lancaster, my hometown, some years ago. It was a beautiful, crisp, sunny morning and the ground was covered in a layer of snow. In nearly every field we walked through a Hare would bolt from the hedge nearby and race across the snow covered ground. They were magical to watch, almost alien in appearance, and completely fascinating to me. I have since done research on them, and they become more interesting with every new fact I learn. They are ancient animals, and ever present in mythologies from around the world. They are low down on the food chain, and even buck rabbits have been known to kill Leverets now and then. Speed and stealth are their only defenses, and they have been clocked at near forty-five miles an hour, one of the fastest land animals. Anyway I digress, this book is about Hares, it is primarily written as a 'read to' book, for children of all ages. It is an adventure/fantasy short story, and Hares are the heroes, with a little girl taking a strong supporting role. The cherry-wood carving of the Hare actually exists in my garden, and its origins, bought from the side of the road from a bodger, are true too. Otherwise this is a work of fiction written out of a love and fascination for Hares, I hope you enjoy.

As a child, I begged my father to make up his wonderful stories as I tried to go to sleep. This book is a tribute to my father who steeped me in the family tradition of story telling. In this series, traditional African fables about elephants, hippos, lions and other animals of the African bush are combined with factual information about them and their conservation. Keenly aware of the needless destruction of wildlife and vegetation which occurs all over the continent as a result of ever expanding population growth and the greedy, land hungry actions of man, the author brings together a collection of fables told by different African tribes that mirror the richness and diversity of Africa's wildlife. The stories bring home the message that we are all part of the great diversity of life and that it is up to us and future generations to preserve our natural heritage.
