They've added a chocolate waterfall you can swim in, a volcano for toasting marshmallows, a bulldozer-battling level, a baby-dinosaur-petting zoo, a not-very-merry merry-go-round, a boxing elephant called the Trunkinator, an X-ray room, a disco with light-up dance floor, the world's scariest roller coaster and a top-secret thirty-ninth level which hasn't even been finished yet! And this year Terry has created the greatest invention that he-or anyone else-has ever invented . . . a Once-upon-a-time machine that will write and illustrate their entire book for them! Well, what are you waiting for? Come on up!

Follow Juney Brown Toes, a young and adventurous Hare, her friends Slow Freddy and Tufty Thomas, and many others, as they spend a remarkable 'Mad March' day, racing, chasing and being chased by friends and enemies alike. What will Juney do when the evil Grey Hound shows up unexpectedly in the middle of a dangerous 'Hare of the Dog' game, and will Farmer, and his daughter Samantha, be of any help to save poor Slow Freddy from the jaws of the Grey Hound! Hare's have been a fascination of mine for sometime. I've rarely seen one! I remember walking above Lancaster, my hometown, some years ago. It was a beautiful, crisp, sunny morning and the ground was covered in a layer of snow. In nearly every field we walked through a Hare would bolt from the hedge nearby and race across the snow covered ground. They were magical to watch, almost alien in appearance, and completely fascinating to me. I have since done research on them, and they become more interesting with every new fact I learn. They are ancient animals, and ever present in mythologies from around the world. They are low down on the food chain, and even buck rabbits have been known to kill Leverets now and then. Speed and stealth are their only defenses, and they have been clocked at near forty-five miles an hour, one of the fastest land animals. Anyway I digress, this book is about Hares, it is primarily written as a 'read to' book, for children of all ages. It is an adventure/fantasy short story, and Hares are the heroes, with a little girl taking a strong supporting role. The cherry-wood carving of the Hare actually exists in my garden, and its origins, bought from the side of the road from a bodger, are true too. Otherwise this is a work of fiction written out of a love and fascination for Hares, I hope you enjoy.
This beautiful graphic-novel adaptation of The Breadwinner animated film tells the story of eleven-year-old Parvana who must disguise herself as a boy to support her family during the Taliban's rule in Afghanistan. Parvana lives with her family in one room of a bombed-out apartment building in Kabul, Afghanistan's capital city. Parvana's father - a history teacher until his school was bombed and his health destroyed - works from a blanket on the ground in the marketplace, reading letters for people who cannot read or write. One day, he is arrested for having forbidden books, and the family is left without someone who can earn money or even shop for food. As conditions for the family grow desperate, only one solution emerges. Forbidden to earn money as a girl, Parvana must transform herself into a boy, and become the breadwinner. Deborah Ellis's beloved novel has been adapted for film by Aircraft Pictures, Cartoon Saloon and Melusine Productions in association with Angelina Jolie's production company, jolie pas productions. The animated feature film, directed by Nora Twomey, will launch in the UK in 2018.
As a child, I begged my father to make up his wonderful stories as I tried to go to sleep. This book is a tribute to my father who steeped me in the family tradition of story telling. I found that making up stories was the only way to get my older daughter to sleep. This was in response to the frequent request of "stay with me while I go to sleep". After many years and now that both my daughters are grown up, I have put pen to paper to help distraught mums and dads get their small children to sleep. I wish you all sweet dreams

From the brilliant and twisted mind of manga artist Shintaro Kago, a new collection of short stories rife with skin-crawling suspense, visceral body horror, and pitch dark-humor. In 2018, manga artist Shintaro Kago made his English debut with Dementia 21, a collection of absurdist manga short stories. Readers found themselves delighted and disgusted by his penchant for body horror, black comedy and the surreal paired with his emphatic, kinetic art style. Kago returns at the height of his powers with Brain Damage, where he dials up the gore and absurdity to new heights. Brain Damage collects four new short manga stories, a tantalizing blend of the hilarious and the macabre. In “Labyrinth Quartet,” four identical young women trapped in an eerie building must solve the mystery of why they’ve been gathered there ― while being hunted by a knife-wielding stalker. In “Curse Room,” a plucky health aide is tasked with keeping zombies peaceful, lest they go on a brain-eating rampage. In “Family Portrait,” people throughout town are strangely disappearing without a trace, and the key to it all is a senile and perverted old man. Finally, in “Blood Harvest” a series of gruesomely mangled bodies are found in pristine cars ― and it appears something sinister lurks within these masses of glass and steel. Black-and-white illustrations throughout
