For those who are looking for large aperture and light gathering capability, the answer may lie with the choice of the Celestron AstroMaster 130 newtonian reflector telescope. Its 5.1" diameter is considered excellent for light collection. When you are looking for faint sky objects such as clusters and nebulae, large aperture becomes relevant. A 650mm f/5 aperture is considered really bright in optical terms, and offers a wide field of view. In order to take full advantage of the telescope's short focal length and wide field of view, the user may consider the purchase of a longer eyepiece than the standard 20mm for viewing galaxies. The AstroMaster 130 features coated glass optics, and is capable of producing clear and bright images of the moon and the planets. This unit comes with a German equatorial mount, a quick dovetail attachment, and a rugged, pre-assembled tripod for your convenience.
The PowerSeeker Accessory Kit from Celestron enhances your planetary viewing experience on any telescope that accepts 1.25" eyepieces and filters. It features two fully coated eyepieces and two of the most popular planetary filters that reveal details of various planets. Also included with this kit is a Moon filter that allows you to safely view the Moon's surface with enhanced contrast and a foam-lined hard case to safely store and transport your accessories.
For use with CGE, CPC, Advanced GT, NexStar Series, (all supplied standard), this adapter allows you to power you telescope directly via the car cigarette lighter, or Celestron’s PowerTank receptacle.
The lightest telescope in the Inspire series! The Inspire 70AZ is

The 130 SLT, like the other models in the SLT Series, comes with a fully computerized hand control. The computerized hand control gives you the ability to automatically slew to any of its 4,000+ objects, including over 600 galaxies, 300 clusters and dozens of beautiful binary stars. With its pre-assembled, adjustable steel tripod, the NexStar 130 SLT can be up and ready to use in a matter of minutes. Our new SkyAlign alignment technology and the included StarPointer Finderscope with a red LED, makes aligning a breeze.
View the details of the lunar surface, the rings of Saturn, the polar ice caps on Mars, the cloud belts on Jupiter or a number of the Messier objects such as the globular cluster in Hercules (M13), or the Great Nebula in Orion (M42). Begin to explore some of the fainter Messier objects using the additional light-gathering capabilities of the 130 SLT’s 5" primary mirror.
Because of the Newtonian design, the mirror gives fully color-corrected views that are best suited for astronomical use.
Engineered from the ground up
Please note that this product will not work with CPC 800 GPS or CPC Deluxe 800 HD telescopes without completely removing the finder scope bracket.
