fullness of Christ, and to be growing in every respect more like Him.
But everywhere we look, it seems like there’s another thing pulling our
minds in a different direction: worry over work or family, frustration

lies about who we are. Instead of feeling set back by these challenges,
you can learn from Christ’s example to overcome these obstacles and
walk more closely with God!
There is freedom and power that comes from spiritual maturity. Start today and experience it in your life!

This new edition includes updated bibliographies throughout, with numerous corrections and updates.
This book is an in-depth study of the Beasts past, present and future which debunks most of the common and accepted assumptions of the Antichrist and instead presents a scripturally based study of he who is to come; The Beast who ascends out of the Abyss having seven heads and ten horns.
In this selection of new sermons, Barbara Brown Taylor walks us through the church year, from the expectancy of Advent to the fires of Pentecost and beyond.
Every Sunday, the Lord's Prayer echoes in every Church around the world. It is an indispensable element of the faith. It is the way Jesus taught his followers to pray, and encapsulates the essential beliefs and attitudes to which all Christians aspire. Here, John Dominic Crossan, one of the world's leading experts on Jesus and his times, explores this foundational prayer line by line. This is quintessential Crossan, providing just the right amount of historical detail and literary insight to enhance our understanding, and drawing out the enduring richness and relevance of Jesus' words for today.
The books of 1 and 2 Samuel vividly describe the passing of the age of the judges and the founding of the Israelite monarchy. We read of the rise and rule of Samuel, the last and greatest of the judges, and his role in establishing Saul and, later, David as kings over Israel. The wars, deceptions, victories, friendship, intrigue, rivalry, jealousy, and (for David) adultery and family discord that marked the reigns of these two men ensure that 1 and 2 Samuel are among the most readable - and relevant - books of the Old Testament. Using personal anecdote, a witty and lively style, and drawing on his considerable theological knowledge, John Goldingay takes us deep into the unfolding story of the Old Testament.

Who are the people of God? Cowardly, contemptuous, distrustful, whining ingrates? Are those the words that spring to mind when you think of a people set apart and named holy by God? Hardly. And yet that is what the book of Numbers shows the people of God to be. Even so, God continues to be faithful to the unfaithful. He chastens them, protects them and continues to invest in them, allowing them to mature, over a period of forty years, into a hardy, trusting, courageous community of warriors ready to take the land he's promised them. The sermons of Deuteronomy are preached on the eve of a confident and holy Israel's entry into the Promised Land. Moses reminds God's people of what they have been through, what's expected of them, what they can expect of God and what will happen in the future, depending on the choices they make. Most of all, he exhorts Israel to love and serve the Lord their God with all their heart, soul and strength, so that they will not only survive but thrive in their land. Using personal anecdote, a witty and lively style, and drawing on his considerable theological knowledge, John Goldingay takes us deep into the unfolding story of the Old Testament. And, as he guides us in our understanding of these time-honoured words and the ancient world they describe, he helps us to apply what we read to our lives.

Isabel has walked in a faith Covenant relationship with the LORD, for approximately thirty years. In 1979 God called her to give up her work in the secular world, sell all that she owned and go to the Philippines. She was led into the mountain regions of Kalinga Apayao, to preach the gospel to the headhunting tribal people. The LORD worked with her confirming the preaching of His Word, with miraculous signs and wonders. This is recorded in her latest book, "THE MESSAGE TO THE CHURCH". She is also the author of Arise and Reap, Reaping with Joy and Come out of her, my People. In January 2000, Isabel returned to the Philippines on her fifth ministry mission. She was told by the Lord, to build and oversee a work which was to be named "Covenant Keepers", as the Lord desired to raise up a body of people who would walk in a faith Covenant relationship with Him. All was accomplished by the Lord's leading and provision. The Lord taught us that He is the Covenant keeping God, who has redeemed His saints from the curse of the law (Gal. 13:3).The curse of the law is sickness, pain, disease, suffering, poverty and the second death, which is eternal damnation in the lake of fire and brimstone (Duet. 28:15-61 & Rev. 21:8). In the Everlasting Covenant agreement which is sealed with the holy redeeming blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, God has freely provided forgiveness of sin, eternal life, imputed righteousness, divine provision, divine protection, and divine health for His redeemed saints. To walk in all the blessings of the Everlasting Covenant, we must first understand what blessings were freely provided in the Atonement in the Lord Jesus Christ, and take the blessings by faith. As you apply the teaching in this manual, you will learn to be a Covenant keeper, who will walk in all the blessings of the Everlasting Covenant.
A series of short, question-based study guides based around the New Testament For Everyone series. The series is intended to encourage church (and other) groups to study the Bible using the For Everyone model. Experienced Bible study writers have selected excerpts and written questions that guide users through the thought of Tom Wright on each passage. These have been reviewed, edited and approved by Tom Wright. Creation is in anguish. Paul's letter to the Romans, as well as the merest glance at our world, shows this clearly. The Church shares in the suffering, groaning in the tension between the 'already' of possessing the fruit of the Spirit and the 'not yet' of our present existence. Paul, however, also makes it abundantly clear that God doesn't stand apart from the pain. Rather, he entered it through Jesus and dwells in the middle of it in the Spirit. These studies present the whole picture of a suffering, sinful world and God's deep love, still working today to reconcile that world to himself.
John Eaton compares reading the Psalms to walking in the mountains: 'Time and time again you see a new crest to climb, but the summit remains beyond.' In "Psalms for Life", he explores the poetry as a never failing source of challenge, comfort and encouragement. Beginning with Psalm 1 and continuing through to Psalm 150, he provides a short reflection on each psalm, explaining the poet's essential message, and ending with a brief meditative prayer. Readers are helped to identify with the wide range of emotions expressed in the Psalms and to pray for God's loving guidance in dealing with them from day to day. As a distinguished biblical scholar who has studied the Psalms all of his life, John Eaton writes with warmth, clarity and authority. As a Christian, he sees the Psalms as prophetic of Christ, revealing vital and often little-known facts of his life and character. As a sensitive and skilful teacher, he draws out the full significance of these ancient songs as a source of wisdom and insight for all who live the Christian life today.
