Ren Gunon (1886-1951) was one of the great luminaries of the twentieth century, whose critique of the modern world has stood fast against the shifting sands of intellectual fashion. His extensive writings, now finally available in English, are a providential treasure-trove for the modern seeker: while pointing ceaselessly to the perennial wisdom found in past cultures ranging from the Shamanistic to the Indian and Chinese, the Hellenic and Judaic, the Christian and Islamic, and including also Alchemy, Hermeticism, and other esoteric currents, they direct the reader also to the deepest level of religious praxis, emphasizing the need for affiliation with a revealed tradition even while acknowledging the final identity of all spiritual paths as they approach the summit of spiritual realization. Studies in Freemasonry and the Compagnonnage is both an attempt to rediscover the lost roots of Masonry and a fascinating look into the many controversies swirling around the subject of Masonry in serious intellectual circles during the first half of the twentieth century. It must also be classed, along with Symbols of Sacred Science, Spiritual Authority and Temporal Power, Traditional Forms and Cosmic Cycles, The Esoterism of Dante, Insights into Christian Esoterism and Insights into Islamic Esoterism and Taoism-not to mention related sections in many of his other books-as one of Ren Gunon's masterful excursions into esoteric myth, symbolism, and secret history. Freemasonry may indeed be, as Gunon ultimately concluded, a largely degenerated and thus no longer strictly 'operative' offshoot of a true initiatory lineage; yet its symbolism, like that of the original Rosicrucians, remains profound, traditional, and therefore ultimately legitimate. And given that the 'Spirit bloweth where it listeth', it is always possible that symbolism of this order may awaken in a receptive soul intimations of the Truth and the Way, which can be of inestimable of value in 'the path to the Path', the quest for a living initiatory spirituality.

Suicides became rampant among Annie s coworkers - women who had previously seemed joyful and at peace. What could possibly cause such emotionally stable women to take their own lives? When Annie meets her boss, Benson, she begins to suspect he s behind it especially when she is sexually harassed by this man who was supposed to be a guiding force at The Lake View Hospital. Annie soon learns of the darkness in the world. She learns that bullying is not confined to playgrounds and schools; bullying happens to adults, too, especially in the guise of sexual harassment. How does a Vampire Cult differ from a Satanic Cult? How do seemingly "normal" or "ordinary" citizens suddenly find themselves committed to a group whose leader promotes criminal activities and isolation from families and friends? What should you do if a loved one becomes indoctrinated by a potentially dangerous cult? This book focuses on various cults and their often criminal belief systems. Most readers are shocked by stories of mass suicides and ritualized cult killings, but few understand how such crimes come to be committed. Snow, a seasoned police officer with experience working on cult crimes, examines those cults that commit offenses from murder and fraud to kidnapping and sexual assault. By providing specific accounts of dangerous cults and their destructive acts, Snow illustrates how seemingly innocent groups can turn pernicious when under the sway of a charismatic leader with an agenda, or when members take things too far. He offers advice on how to avoid falling victim to cult indoctrination, concluding with chapters on how to identify cults, how to protect yourself and your family, and what to do if a loved one is ensnared by such a group.

"Come to us you who thirst for the nature of reality. Come you who yearn for yourself. Come brothers of the breach and broken sisters. Come you who cannot find rest, and who can have no peace." -The Book of Specularis. This is the second book in a trilogy on the Sethian Gnostic tradition of today, and it contains a selection of texts from the Charaxio, the holy book of the organization Sodalitas Sanctum Seth. This collection of modern Sethian writings intends to give new perspectives to those who have stumbled upon an encounter with Metanoia, Our Lady of Unexpected Insight and Perplexity, and thus perceived the shape of the Mystery. Consider this entire book as a projective test. As in the field of psychology, such a test has no meaning in itself: It is you; with your background, opinions, cultural frame of mind and self-understanding that determine what you see, or are shown. As in the previous volume, The Key, it is important to remember that as you read this book, the book is also reading you.
"HIS STORY" is a thorough evaluation of religion, from a true Christian perspective. It begins with the basic Bible stories, and ends with exposing the secrets behind witchcraft. Since all of us have fallen asleep on the couch, at one point in time, reading the Scriptures, he has written the entirety of this book in poetic format, with the intention of making it more enjoyable, and easier, to read. Nick has also attempted to add humor, where appropriate, without disrespecting or disrupting the Lord Jesus or His Word. Nick resides in the quiet, reclusive Blue Ridge Mountains, with his lovely girlfriend, Andrea, and their adorable daughter, Harley. They have a timber wolf hybrid, as their loyal family pet. Though this is his first book, Nick hopes this initial accomplishment will serve as a launching pad for a reputable literary career.
'Two throughout Eight' is a different kind of novel, strategically adjutant from the first book entitled 'One throughout Eight.' An enlightening metaphysical treatise, Kevin Jon Klause shows us the struggle of life depicted with a mixture of deities and powerful people. The most brilliant people are the victors. Only they will enjoy the best life has to offer.
In The Discovery of Witches, Matthew Hopkins - the Witch Finder General of England during the early 1600s - details the process by which he found and captured suspected witches. Hopkins' treatise is comprised of answers to various queries he had received by members of the public curious about his investigatory techniques in finding witches. This book answers a total of fourteen queries, with replies ranging from a few sentences to a few paragraphs in length. The book is an illustrative portrayal of a society fervently given to superstitions about the powers of witchcraft. At three hundred women killed, the efforts of Hopkins and his assistant John Stearne were prolific. Accorded status, Hopkins encountered opposition to his witch finding. That his 'investigations' required scant evidence to secure death sentences dismayed figures in the Church of England. Today, historians judge Hopkins as an opportunist who took advantage of unfounded suspicions to advance his own fame.
Explore the history of the witch trials in Connecticut, which predated the witch trials in Salem, Massachusetts, by nearly fifty years.
The end of the age is upon us. Soon the heavens will be shaken, and the battlefield of an ancient war will make its way to the earth. The fabric of time and space trembles full of fractures under the strain of warring battalions, yet we of earth sit in stillness, in a quiet sector of our universe, primarily unaware of the forces about to embark upon us. Through the thinning veil, both the darkness, and the light are penetrating. And while the world becomes subtly entrenched in clouds of darkness, speckled rays of prophetic light have been piercing through, fulfilling the prophecies of Joel 2:28-32. Over 20 years ago, one such ray of light struck me, an ordinary 12-year-old boy. In a vision, I saw an eagle whose countenance and power was unfathomable. Electricity pulsated throughout the feathers of His body, and while He glared at me with His glowing eyes, He stretched out His wings. A star of light formed between them, and struck me on my forehead. I am finally beginning to understand the knowledge that was imparted to me on that night so long ago...

By stripping away the fantasies and exploring the roots, flowers and fruits of Tantra, the author provides an outstandingly effective and coherent manual of practices. It contains the most lucid discussions of how to achieve liberation in the company of numerous Indian goddesses and gods, each of whom brings their own lessons and gifts to the dedicated seeker. It is also an eloquent introduction to the mysteries of the great goddess Kali, providing numerous views of her manifold nature, and showing the immense but hidden role played throughout history by women in the development and dissemination of tantric practices and beliefs.Jan Fries explores the spectrum of techniques from mudra to mantra, pranayama to puja, from kundalini arousal to purification to sexual rites, and makes them both accessible and relevant, translating them out of the Twilight Language of old texts and setting them in the context of both personal transformation and the historical evolution of traditions. The web of connections between Tantra and Chinese Alchemy and Taoism are explored as the author weaves together many of the previously disparate strands of philosophies and practices. This book challenges the reader to dream, delight, and develop, and provides an illustrated guidebook on how to do so. Bliss awaits those who dare. |
