Many people search to find a good - and true - ghost story in San
Diego. It might surprise you to find that some tales you thought
were true, may be created from misconceptions, distortions, and
even made-up historic events. Find the scoop here as some of the
"truths" of San Diego's most famous haunts are debunked and stories
set straight via historical research. Just how haunted is the
Whaley House? Was "Yankee Jim" really hung on the property, or can
this and other Whaley tales be demystified? Is there still a
ghostly gunslinger's poker game going on at the Horton Grand Hotel
- were the players real or not? The ghost story surrounding Albert
Robinson and his burial and then subsequent haunting of Julian
Hotel is disturbing - but is it true? The reality and history of
many haunted places can be far more titillating without the smoke
and mirrors, exaggerations, and fabrications. So pull back the
curtain to find out what's behind San Diego's ghostly origins.
The Golden Dawn is one of most prolific and legendary of all
Western secret and esoteric societies. Hundreds of people, from the
rich and famous to the common man, have walked through its halls of
the neophyte. Very few stood as tall in the history of the occult
sciences as Arthur Edward Waite, the creator of the Rider Waite
Tarot Deck. He founded the Fellowship of the Rosy Cross in England
in 1915. For the first time in more than 80 years, these secret
ceremonies are revealed and made available to you. Included in this
volume are the following deeply spiritual rites: 1) Neophyte
Initiation, 2) Zelator Initiation, 3) Theoreticus Initiation, 4)
Practicus Initiation, 5) Philosophus Initiation, 6) Portal
Initiation, 7) Adeptus Minor Initiation, 8) Adeptus Major
Initiation, 9) Adeptus Exemptus Initiation, and 10)Return in Light
Initiation. Be part of a historical moment in the tradition of the
Western Mysteries. If you are an aspirant of the Rosicrucian
Mysteries or the Golden Dawn Tradition and looking for moving
mystical ceremonies filled with high levels of esoteric wisdom, you
will find them in this book.
If you are a Christian believer and you have exclusive faith in the
pre-Tribulation Rapture, this book is for you. You need to consider
its 7 Rapture timing secrets. This book presents, in simple
balanced logical steps, the major Biblical inferences for the
pre-Trib and the post-Trib Rapture theories. The author does not
dogmatically preach only one of the theories; rather he proposes
that believers should balance their Rapture faith based on the
various strengths of the evidence for each theory. The book gives a
fair presentation of the two major theories, and then asks the
reader to make an informed evaluation and only then apportion
Rapture faith. It is the author's opinion that a dogmatic 100%
faith in any one of the Rapture theories is not justified and could
in the future be dangerous to spiritual stability. In the Sections
explaining the post-Tribulation Rapture inferences, Dr. True
presents evidence that the "7-year" portion of the "Future" section
of the book of Revelation (6:1-20:6) describes 7 self-contained
concurrent narratives, each ending with YHWH's wrath and the
24-hour Day of the Lord. He also presents a theory about the
"mystery" in chapter 10. Dr. True has retired from his formal
career as a licensed physician and a board certified psychiatrist.
He likes to say he is a sinner in recovery, not unlike alcoholics
who know they must continue practicing recovery. He became a
believer at age 12, the oldest of 7 siblings in a blended family.
Secular education in the absence of enlightened teachers led to a
period of agnosticism and unenlightened selfishness. A serious
re-evaluation in mid-life led back to the solid rock of a
historical risen Savior/Creator. Ever the oldest brother therapist,
his concern is that fellow believers not stumble on paths strewn
with unnecessary dogmatism.

In the ancient world the magicians of Egypt were considered the
best. But was magic harmless fun, heartfelt hope, or something
darker? Whether you needed a love charm, a chat with your dead
wife, or the ability to fly like a bird, an Egyptian magician had
just the thing. Christina Riggs explores how the Egyptians thought
about magic, who performed it and why, and also helps readers
understand why we've come to think of ancient Egypt in such a
mystical, magical way in the first place. paragraph indentThis book
takes Egyptian magic seriously, using ancient texts and images to
tackle the blurry distinctions between magic, religion and
medicine. Along the way, readers will learn how to cure scorpion
bites, why you might want to break the legs off your stuffed
hippopotamus toy, and whether mummies really can come back to life.
Readers will also (if so inclined) be able to save a fortune on
pregnancy tests by simply urinating on barley seeds, and learn how
to use the next street parade to predict the future - or ensure
that annoying neighbour gets his comeuppance.
In many ways, Arbatel is unique among texts on magic. Unlike the
vast majority of writings, it is clear, concise, and elegantly
written. The practical instructions are straightforward and
undemanding. When it first appeared in 1575, it attracted the
attention of people with a surprisingly broad range of agendas,
including some of the finest minds of the time. Often quoted and
reprinted, both praised and condemned, its impact on western
esoteric philosophy has been called "overwhelming." Arbatel's magic
is full of wonder and free from the sinister elements usually
associated with texts on the subject. But it is about more than
magic; filled with gnomic wisdom, it urges us to help our
neighbors, be positive and grateful, and use time wisely. Above
all, it teaches us to pay attention, looking for the wondrous and
miraculous. In fact, to the author this virtually defines the
magus. Included are illustrations, bibliography, index, and
original Latin text.
Shadow work-the exploration of the darker side of oneself and the
world-is often misunderstood. It is not about hiding in the
darkness, but instead about a rewarding process of
self-transformation unlocked by understanding all facets of
yourself. In The Oracle of Pluto artist Rose Ides and author Aubrey
Houdeshell use Plutonian archetypes to guide the user through the
process of shadow work. Whimsical illustrations that nod to shadow
puppetry enhance the process of unearthing this other side of
ourselves, allowing for potent transformations for seekers of all
kinds. This set includes: * 55 full-colour oracle cards. These
vibrantly illustrated cards (3 X 5") depict images of hands
projecting shadow puppets of archetypes like the Crow, the Tiger,
and the Spider. * A 112-page paperback guidebook. This enclosed
guide will help the user get in touch with their undiscovered self
through the themes of self-awareness, shadow, transformation,
empowerment, evolution and integration. * Magnetic closure case.
This durable magnetic closure case is perfectly sized for travel or
display, and holds the paperback book and cards securely in
dedicated sleeves.

recognize who and what we are? Remember Her then. The Words and
Wisdom in this book will introduce you to who She really is...once
again...The Gathering of Daughters is a book filled with inspiring
and fulfilling words that lead the reader toward discovering a new
way of being.
Infamous Egyptian sorcerer al-Toukhi wrote more than 30 books on
magick, astrology, geomancy, and spirit evocation. He compiled many
power-house methods of sorcery from the archives of his manuscript
collection and from the manuscripts preserved in Egyptian
libraries. Harut and Marut by al-Toukhi is one of two known
existing grimoires paying homeage to the story of the two angels
who were sent down to test the people at Babel or Babylon by
performing deeds of magic. The authentic grimoire of Harut and
Marut is said to possess immense supernatural power and remains
lost to this day. Contained in this book are magical techniques,
incantations, and spells of the jinn worthy of the name Harut and
Marut.
In 2002, author Grace J. Scott began to receive channeled material
from the beyond and to publish the results. This latest book of
such material was delivered by souls selected by Creator to deliver
His message-that He is the origin of all that is-to the world. All
of creation began with a cell of Creator, and this single
individual cell of His energy contains an exact copy of His DNA and
cell memory. That is how we are all connected-how we are all one.
"Beyond Cell Memory" presents the channeled material in simple
language so that all who read it may understand such mysteries as
how souls and bodies were created. As humans evolved physically,
our form, size, and intellect were enhanced by beings of higher
intellect and spiritual vibration from other universes; these same
beings are now surrounding and protecting Earth. Famous people-Dr.
Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung, and Edgar Cayce-channeled material that
covers dreams, homosexuality, abortion, and suicide. Isaac Newton
and Galileo Galilei channeled material that suggests that DNA and
cell memory connect us to souls of other universes and the Creator
of all that is. What we, as souls, do on our planet is known by and
impacts other planets containing souls. Each soul contains DNA and
cell memory from Creator, and this same soul exists regardless of
the number of lives lived. With imminent cataclysmic Earth changes,
we must learn how to clear our cell memory of trauma.
Greek magical texts sometimes contain peculiar triangular
formations created by repeating the same word over and over again
in the same column, but leaving off one letter at the beginning or
end (or both). Interpretations shifted during the twentieth
century: did the words inscribed in these shapes represent the
names of diseases or evil demons which were forced to disappear as
each letter of the name does? Or were they the work of Roman period
scribes representing very different notions? This new study uses a
masterly survey of the known examples of these texts to argue for a
radical revision of recent views.
Originally published between 1920-70, the aim of the general
editor, C.K. Ogden, was to summarize the most up to date findings
and theories of historians, anthropologists, archaeologists and
sociologists. This reprinted material is available as a set or in
the following groupings: "Prehistory and Historical Ethnography"
set of 12: 0-415-15611-4 (u800); "Greek Civilization" set of 7:
0-415-15612-2 (u450); "Roman Civilization" set of 6: 0-415-15613-0
(u400); "Eastern Civilizations" set of 10: 0-415-15614-9 (u650);
"Judaeo-Christian Civilization" set of 4: 0-415-15615-7: (u250);
"European Civilization" set of 11: 0-415-15616-5 (u700).
