The hit police corruption drama from the makers of Bodyguard returns and Season 6 of Line of Duty sees AC-12 facing their most enigmatic adversary so far: Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Davidson, the senior investigating officer of a high-profile unsolved murder. A mysterious light in the sky, an unnatural glow in the ocean and a thick fog bring terror to the lighthouse keepers of Fang Rock. 'The Trap' has Burke trapped with his enemy Urko in an underground railway station. 'The Good Seeds' finds Galen and the astronauts hiding out on a farm. In 'The Legacy' Burke and Virdon discover a message from 20th Century scientists which leads them discover how the world was destroyed. 'Tomorrow's Tide' sees the astronauts captured and put to work in an ape fishing village. 'The Surgeon' has Galen's old girlfriend Kira operate on an injured Virdon. In 'The Deception' a blind chimp falls in love with Burke. 'The Horse Race' sees Virdon accept the challenge of racing horses in exchange for another human's freedom. 'The Interrogation' has Burke captured by the apes and threatened with brain-washing. 'The Tyrant' finds the astronauts trying to protect a human farm community against the advances of an ambitious ape. 'The Cure' sees the astronauts argue with a chimp doctor when an outbreak of malaria effects a human village. 'The Liberator' has the astronauts captured and sent to work in the mines, where they attempt to rally their fellow human beings in a revolt against the ape masters. Finally, in 'Up Above the World So High', the astronauts meet a human eager to learn the secret of flight.

The Wirrn now intend to use the sleepers as the hosts for their hatchings and claim the Earth as their own.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Rebecca Hall star in this five-part drama series set towards the end of the Edwardian era. The programme follows aristocrat Christopher Tietjens (Cumberbatch) as he marries the destructive Sylvia (Hall) despite being uncertain about whether the child she is pregnant with is his. He is determined to be faithful regardless of Sylvia's dalliances with other men but his resolve falters when he meets beautiful suffragette Valentine Wannop (Adelaide Clemens). As the First World War approaches Christopher's life only becomes more complicated.
An early serial from the long-running BBC television series starring William Hartnell as the original Doctor Who. When the Doctor and his fellow travellers on the TARDIS board a moving spaceship they are surprised to discover that its occupants appear to be dead. Ian Chesterton (William Russell) finally manages to revive a few of the crew and discovers that they have been banned from leaving the orbit of the nearest planet, Sense-Sphere. A number of Sensorites, the race that inhabits the planet, subsequently arrive on the ship and threaten the Doctor and his comrades in a similar manner. A battle of wits ensues in which the humans, aided by the Doctor, attempt to escape the clutches of their alien captors.
Season Two of La Brea continues the epic, time-travelling adventures that began when a massive sinkhole opened in Los Angeles, plunging people into a mysterious primeval land where they must unite for survival. This season, the Harris family- Gavin and Eve and their kids Izzy and Josh - still find themselves separated across parallel worlds. In 10,000 B.C, Eve is determined to find a way to reunite with Josh, who accidentally went through the portal to the year 1988. But unbeknownst to Eve, Gavin and Izzy have travelled from the modern world to prehistoric Seattle and are now embarking on a dangerous journey to L.A, so they can get their family back together.

The Third Doctor (Jon Pertwee) faces terrifying plastic Autons and the evil Master in these two classic Doctor Who adventures. In 'Spearhead from Space' (1969), the newly-regenerated Doctor begins his exile on 20th century Earth after being forbidden to continue his travels through time and space by his fellow Time Lords. His arrival coincides with a shower of strange meteorites, which are promptly investigated by the United Nations Intelligence Taskforce. Although his old friend Brigadier Alastair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart (Nicholas Courtney) is initially suspicious of the Doctor's new appearance and personality, he is forced to ask for his help when several of the meteorites go missing. The Doctor discovers that the meteor shower was in fact the first wave of an invasion by hostile alien intelligence the Nestene; phase two begins when the Autons - deadly plastic mannequins created by the Nestene agents on Earth - launch an attack on the unsuspecting public. In 'Terror of the Autons' (1970), the Doctor must pit his wits against the Nestene invaders, now teamed with renegade Time Lord the Master. This episode marks the first appearance of Jo Grant (Katy Manning), Captain Mike Yates (Richard Franklin) and The Master (Roger Delgado).

Two adventures from the early 1980s with Peter Davison starring as the Time Lord. In 'Kinda' (1982), the Doctor (Davison), Tegan (Janet Fielding), Adric (Matthew Waterhouse) and Nyssa (Sarah Sutton) land on paradisical Deva Loka, for rest and recuperation. However, the military expediton on the planet has lost several crew members, and the Doctor and Adric are taken hostage by the near hysterical Hindle. Meanwhile, Tegan's dreams have provided the gateway to an ancient evil, the snake-like Mara. The Doctor must prevent the Mara from taking over the Kinda and destroying the expedition, as the wheel of creation begins to turn. In 'Snakedance' (1983), a loose sequel to 'Kinda', Tegan must have made a mistake when she was setting the co-ordinates for the TARDIS, because the Doctor certainly hadn't intended landing on Manussa. When the Doctor learns that Manussa was once the home of the Sumaran Empire, he realises that an evil force has begun to take over Tegan's will. This force, the Mara, is planning to use Tegan as a vehicle to retake power on Manussa. Just as the celebrations to commemorate the destruction of the Sumaran Empire by the Federation are about to take place, the Legend of Mara is about to come true.
Two classic Doctor Who adventures set on the planet of Peladon, starring Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor, with Katy Manning as his companion in the first story and Elisabeth Sladen in the second. In the four-parter 'The Curse of Peladon' (1972), the Doctor (Pertwee) finally seems to have escaped his exile to Earth when he manages to transport Jo (Manning) in the Tardis to the planet Peladon. The pair are mistaken for Earth delegates at a conference to decide whether Peladon should join the Galactic Federation, and discover that someone is attempting to use the legendary royal beast of Aggador to trigger off a war. In the six-parter 'The Monster of Peladon' (1974), the Tardis arrives on the Planet of Peladon half a century after the Doctor's first visit. The planet has now become of great tactical importance because of its focal position between warring factions. The Doctor and Sarah (Elisabeth Sladen) have to act as peacekeepers between rival ambassadors and they must also find the truth behind 'the spirit'. |
