In his first book of original research for four years, Jon Downes visits the Antillean island of Puerto Rico, to which he has led two expeditions - in 1998 and 2004. Together with noted researcher Nick Redfern he goes in search of the grotesque vampiric chupacabra, believing that it can - finally - be categorised within a zoological frame of reference rather than a purely paranormal one. Along the way he uncovers mystery after mystery, has a run in with terrorists, art historians, and even has his garden buzzed by a UFO. By turns both terrifying and funny, this remarkable book is a real tour de force by one of the world's foremost cryptozoological researchers.
The author's personal life story of true encounters with conventions' impossibilities. "Armed with photographs, diary entries and accounts from friends and family, Dogged Days is a fabulous book, written in Ellis' usual, witty, self-deprecating style and should take pride of place on anybody's bookshelf." ~ Steve Johnson reviewer for UFO Data magazine.
2009 IPPY Bronze Award Winner (Science) Finalist 2009 Next Generation Indie Book Awards (Social Change) "The Thinking Person's UFO Book" seeks to understand the pervasive denial surrounding unidentified flying objects. The team of Gordon Chism and Richard M. Dolan melds philosophical theory and historical scholarship to present an easy-to-read, entertaining, and informative work. Chism shares his personal UFO sighting and his struggle with peer group dismissal. His experience caused him to wonder why people so often reject new ideas and new perspectives of reality. The book weaves his conclusions together with researched accounts of worldwide sightings and the government and military response. A key source for this history was Dolan's 2002 volume, "UFOs and the National Security State." The authors recognize that our human centric view of the cosmos is not serving our planet well. A society based on falsehoods is not the way to move ahead. Acknowledging the truth of UFOs would be a step in the right direction. As Gordon Chism suggests, doing so might just bring us to a new "Age of Reason."
An intimate account, in three interlocked themes, of one man's remarkably complex life. ART: Budd Hopkins is a nationally known Abstract Expressonist painter, with works in the collections of the Guggenheim, Whitney, and Metropolitan Museums, as well as Boston's Museum of Fine Arts and New York's Museum of Modern Art. In this revealing memoir, Hopkins explains the development of his work and describes with keen insight his friendships with senior artists such as Franz Kline, Mark Rothko, and Robert Motherwell, and the importance he finds in their work. LIFE: Beginning with his childhood and youth in West Virginia, a period that remains a central theme in this memoir, Hopkins goes on to discuss his life as a victim of polio during the pandemic of the 1930s, his complex relationship with his father, his participation in the famous "Cedar Bar years" of Abstract Expressionism, his adventures evading the attentions of several prominent members in New York's once closeted gay scene, and his summer life in Cape Cod. UFOs: Hopkins has also spent more than 30 years investigating UFO reports and is considered the world expert on UFO abductions. He has authored four seminal books on the subject, including "Missing Time" and the New York Times bestseller "Intruders," which was the subject of a CBS miniseries. Among the personal or professional relationships he writes about during his research are those with the astronomers Carl Sagan and J. Allen Hynek, the philanthropist Laurence Rockefeller, and the Harvard psychiatrist John Mack.
Are UFO's of man or are they from alien worlds? This book presents strong arguments that will steer you towards the truths. It contains detailed testimony of numerous UFO eyewitnesses including two frightening close encounters with many sightings occurring near military installations. It covers the massive UFO flap occurring in 1988 in New York's Hudson Valley that extended into the early 1990's. Intimate details are given on personal experiences recent as 2004. From hardcore facts to far-fetched concepts, the author has consumed and digested a phenomenal amount of information related to UFO's as well as the known and speculated science behind them. The far-flung, multi-faceted research conducted by the author over many years is summarized and expressed for all those with a thirst to know. This book contains new revelations about the UFO landing in North Hudson Park, New Jersey in 1975. Fiery opinions are expressed based on thought provoking historical knowledge, both published and shared amongst those who are fascinated by this subject.
The Physics of Encounter suggests explanations for paranormal phenomena. It describes the hidden force that generates consciousness and enables our mind to influence physical events. The proposed conceptual model shows that mind and matter are two sides of the same coin and introduces new interpretations of pivotal concepts into the public debate about science and religion. Written for readers of all backgrounds, the book illuminates the controversial views regarding the nature of our universe. Could our minds be imbedded in a field of cosmic consciousness? Was our universe created "from nothing" or is it a pulsating reality, expanding and collapsing? The book examines the issue of consciousness in the light of recently developed theories of vacum fluctuations and oscillating strings. It describes how "entanglements" with a hidden force give rise to such baffling phenomena as Near-Death-Experiences, UFOs, and backward causation. Last not least the book examines fears that have recently resurfaced in the media: could our entire earth be pulled into a black hole? Could the simulation of a big bang in an immensely powerful particle accelerator, like the one at the atomic research lab CERN near Geneva, create such a fateful event? As you read this, the earth is still circling around the sun. The book provides a framework for a rational discussion of fascinating and by no means trivial phenomena.
2009 reprint of 1956 First edition. When Prophecy Fails [1956] is a classic text in social psychology authored by Leon Festinger, Henry Riecken, and Stanley Schachter. It chronicles the experience of a UFO cult that believed the end of the world was at hand. In effect, it is a social and psychological study of a modern group that predicted the destruction of the world, and the adjustments made when the prediction failed to materialize. "The authors have done something as laudable as it is unusual for social psychologists. They espied a fleeting social movement important to a line of research they were interested in and took after it. They recruited a team of observers, joined the movement, and watched it from within under great difficulties until its crisis came and went. Their report is of interest as much for the method as for the substance."-Everett C. Hughes, The American Journal of Sociology.
Charles A. A. Dellschau was born on June 4, 1830, in Brandenburg, Prussia, and immigrated to the United States in 1853, first settling in Texas. The historical record falls silent until 1860, when he is again shown living in Texas, where he marries Antonia Hilt the following year. The so-called "lost years" of the secretive Dellschau's life became a matter of controversy when his voluminous, illustrated notebooks surfaced nearly a half-century after his death in 1923 at age 93. Dellschau literally spent the last 20 years of his life closeted away in an attic apartment, creating a fantastical body of art that continues to fascinate. Indeed, today Dellschau is recognized as one of America's leading visionary artists, ranked alongside such world luminaries as Henry Darger and Adolf W l i. A single page of one of his notebooks now fetches thousands of dollars - and there are thousands of such pages, frenetic productivity being a hallmark of visionary artists. But Dellschau's work - consisting of ink and watercolor illustrations of fanciful flying machines to which he frequently pasted newspaper clippings, or "press blooms" as he called them - appears to tell a coherent story of the Sonora (California) Aero Club. Using an anti-gravity gas purportedly invented by one of its members, The Club allegedly turned out a series of experimental aircraft some 50 years before the Wright Brothers first took wing. A mere flight of artistic fancy? Or did Dellschau actually spend his lost years documenting wildly improbable inventions? Were the Aero Club's airships also responsible for many UFO sightings in America? "The Secrets of Dellschau: The Sonora Aero Club & The Airships of The 1800s, a True Story" is the first book-length account of Dellschau's life and work.
Donald Kehoe investigated many of the earliest encounters between the U.S. Air Force and UFOs. Keyhoe believed the Air Force was actively investigating these close encounters, and also came to the conclusion that the Earth has been visited by Beings from outer space for at least two and a half centuries. He also noted, that the sightings increased sharply with the coming of the Atomic Age after WWII. Using anecdotal evidence, Kehoe intimates that the government may have attained and adapted alien technology. Written in an engaging, narrative style, this book is a must have for any UFO library.
In 1951, a young boy in rural Georgia was visited and abducted by group of alien visitors from an unknown dimension. That contact continued over several decades and resulted in the birth of more than sixty hybrid children... and one of the most remarkable stories in all of UFO lore. LOVE IN AN ALIEN PURGATORY is the startling pictorial account of David Huggins' hidden life, as revealed in his own vivd and sometimes disturbing paintings. With commentary and text by UFO investigator Farah Yurdozu, David's story takes the reader into a world between two dimensions: a purgatory of hope, sex, fear and, ultimately, love.
Beginning with the infamous 1943 Philadelphia Experiment in radar invisibility, the path leads to modern-day scraps of evidence left at a desolate Air Force Station at the eastern tip of Long Island -- scraps of mind-control experiments and other questionable activities that were undertaken even after the base had officially ceased to function. Connections emerge that weave an incredible tapestry ending with the author's personal involvement in a way which could never have been imagined.
"When Saucers Came to Earth" is the very first book in the English language entirely devoted to the story of UFO sightings that have occurred in Italy. Sightings of a special kind. The landings of "flying saucers" in the 1940s and '50s. These were extraordinary encounters involving ordinary people, in a world that has ceased to exist. Begin a fascinating journey back to distant 1912, when an Italian farmer met up with a ghostly light on a foggy night in the northern Italian flatlands; and travel to the early morning of New Year's Eve 1954, when an odd-looking flying saucer with two "pilots" observed an old bell-ringer. Over 100 amazing saucer landings are described in detail, all featuring sources and critiquing comments aimed at a better understanding of the follow-ups to - and the possible explanations for - every incident. Hundreds of maps, sketches, pieces of artwork, and newsclippings make this book a visual tour of the early years of the "flying saucer" phenomenon and myth.
A scintillating commentary on stepping into the future for us all. From beyond our Galaxy, the Andromedans have extended the hand of friendship and knowledge to help shepherd us through Earth changes, into a golden age of peace and conscious awareness. They show us a way beyond the mire of war and conflict into a world where love and respect for each other is the driving force, and equality is our birthright. Some of the topics they cover in telepathic discussion: Climate change, anti-gravity, a miracle polymer that will change our society; Neutralizing nuclear waste, the effect of our Sun on Earth, how to use sensory telepathic communication, advanced energy points and human sensing devices in the body. The ultimate power of the heart, having personal control over health and emotions; the birth of our universe, light and dark matter, and how to deal with fear in our everyday lives. What more could we ask for than to be given the knowledge that we need to transform our society? Can we remove our judgments and with open hearts find the courage to learn from them? Can we also find the best in ourselves to offer them? As Earth is the only home for all of us, let us begin human co-operation by recognizing our similarities and honoring our unique differences.

Where do UFOs really come from? Layne holds an inter-dimensional, etheric-based theory. He terms those from the other realms as Etherians and the UFOs themselves sometimes appear as living creatures, referred to as aeroforms. Much of the information was corroborated by the scientific work of Trevor James Constable or came directly from intelligences channeled through Mark Probert, the greatest psychic medium of his time. Do not discount channeled material until you read this book. Layne was scientific in his approach until hearing Probert's amazing messages, which independently verifies his research. Covers propulsion systems, vibrational frequencies, and the sudden appearance of these craft more accurately than most scientific books on this subject have ever done.
This book investigates numerous encounters between fighter pilots, other people, and UFOs. The author stated that while Earth has been visited by extraterrestrials for centuries, the Air Force was actively investigating these cases of close encounter, and hiding them from the people.
