Yupo Translucent Watercolour Paper will help you see colour from a new perspective. Its ultra-smooth surface is a great starting point for a variety of media including watercolour, alcohol ink, acrylic, monotype, offset printing, oil pastel, and graphite. Yupo Translucent is a non-porous, acid-free, and pH-neutral synthetic paper which is machine-made in the US from 100% polypropylene. It is completely water and stain-proof and has become a unique alternative to traditional art papers due to its strength and durability. This paper resists tearing or buckling and there is no need to stretch or treat the paper before you start work. The super smooth surface allows you to build up nuances and patterns that would normally be impossible to achieve on traditional watercolour and drawing paper. Because it can be wiped clean you have the option to return to specific areas and redo them until they meet your standards, or to build up layers of paint using a similar technique to the one used with oil painting.
Dala Watercolour Pads consist of 10 sheets of fine quality watercolour paper suitable for watercolour paint and ink applications. 300gsm
The Graduate Lettering Mixed Media pads are perfect to practice easily the Lettering technique, the art of drawing letters, playing with textures and graphic elements.
Yupo is a non-porous, acid-free and pH neutral, synthetic paper which is machine-made in the US from 100% polypropylene. It is completely waterproof, stain-resistant and has become a unique and intriguing alternative to traditional art papers due to its strength and lifting properties. Yupo is made from heated polypropylene pellets which are then extruded to form the base and surface layers of the paper, These layers are stretched to create a dimensionally storable and biaxial-orientated substrate. This process means that Yupo paper is exceptionally strong, opaque and has an incredibly smooth surface. This paper easily resists tearing or buckling meaning there is no need to stretch or treat in any way before you start work. Yupo has an extra smooth surface and can be used with a combination of media, including watercolour, alcohol ink, acrylic paint, monotype, offset printing, debossing, oil pastel, graphite, and silkscreen. As an especially durable synthetic, Yupo normally enters the waste stream at a far slower rate than conventional papers. Since it is a polypropylene (PP) plastic film, it is fully recyclable and will remain inert in any approved landfill. If safely incinerated in a modern incinerator with an atmosphere of excess oxygen, it will yield only water, carbon dioxide, and ash. "Yupo is very different to normal watercolour paper (but still make sure not to get greasy fingerprints on it) it stays flat, which is a great bonus, the paint can go mad; which is fun and you can pretty much rinse a sheet under a cold tap and start again. Masking fluid doesn't bond to the surface, so make sure it's dry before you rinse anything away as water will creep slightly under the masking fluid. It's very different, it's fun to play with and well worth trying." When you have completed a piece remember to spray the surface of the Yupo paper with a matt clear varnish or finishing spray so that the work will remain stable.
The paper is ideal for use with graphite, felt pen and markers and it also lends itself to all kinds of wet techniques such as watercolour, gouache, ink or mixed dry and wet techniques. The colour and the lightly grained aspect of its surface allows for a harmonious rendering of contrasting line delicacy and strength.

Langton is a superior quality watercolour paper. For many years artists have appreciated the qualities of the Langton. Made traditionally on a cylinder mould machine, the paper features a natural whiteness with a soft touch and distinctive texture. Langton watercolour paper is acid free with an alkali reserve to preserve finished pieces of work and protect against discolouration. Treated with an anti-fungal treatment, Langton watercolour paper also boasts a gelatinised surface for strength and resilience. Please note, these sheets have a rough finish. They have a textured surface, and are not suitable for painting in a detailed manner.

Sizing is important to watercolor paper. It helps the paper accept washes, scratching and erasing without affecting the actual fibers and strength of the paper. Manufactured in the same French mill since 1492, Arches watercolour papers are produced on a cylinder mould with pure French stream water. Made with natural gelatin sizing. It is naturally white - containing no optical brighteners, and offers optimal longevity. Each sheet of Arches watercolour paper is hand inspected to ensure consistency and durability. Please note, this product has a NOT (cold pressed) surface. The surface of the paper is slightly textured, and is not suitable for extremely detailed work. Most painters will find it suitable for most purposes.
Cold Press/ ’Not' surface - slightly textured surface. It is the most popular surface for watercolour painters as it allows for a little texture in your work. Good for large areas of wash but also for detail. For more than 50 years Seawhite has been supplying UK artists. They are a family business based in Partridge Green, West Sussex, not far from Brighton where the business began. They also have the Seawhite Studio - a modern painting studio with art classes run by Emily Ball.
