Chromium Green Oxide (PG17) is a natural green colour. It is well suited to landscape applications and can also be used to soften other colours.
Graphite Gray (PBk10) is an opaque grey that can be handled as a wet wash or as a dry textured brush stroke. This product can be used to paint weathered wood, fence posts and old buildings.
Hooker's Green (PG36 PY3 PO49) is a warm, natural, shamrock green. This product is a useful mixing green that can capture a range of shades from dappled woodland sunlight to deep forest depths.
Indanthrone Blue (PB60) is a super-staining, warm, primary blue. Indanthrone has a pleasing range from blue-black to stonewashed denim. This product is ideal for capturing indigo skies, water and interesting shadows. Try with Anthraquinoid Red, Indian Yellow for a complete a transparent staining trio.
Italian Burnt Sienna (PBr7) is a natural orange-brown earth pigment. This shade is ideal for use when painting Pacific North-western landscapes, old bricks or fallen leaves.
Permanent Green Light (PY3 PG7) is a bright, vibrant green that has both Phthalo Green Blue Shade and Hansa Yellow Light in its make-up. An organic, semi-transparent and high-staining pigment this product yields bright, clean mixtures. It makes for both an interesting complement and mixing colour with Quinacridone Violet.
Permanent Violet (PR88) is a velvety purple. This lightfast, semi-transparent pigment is the perfect pre-mixed violet. This product is perfect, when in a wash, for painting the petals of pansies due to its soft handling ability.
Quinacridone Sienna (PO48 PR209 PY150) is a orange terracotta hue similar to Burnt Sienna but with finer particles. Quinacridones are the brightest, boldest colours modern technology can offer. All Quinacridone colours excel in clarity, intensity, durability and transparency. Try using damp under Indigo or Payne's Gray to create compressed orange pools surrounded by greys.
Raw Umber Violet is a deep burgundy-brown colour. This product is unique to Daniel Smith as is the result of a blend of Raw Umber and Quinacridone Violet.
Ultramarine Violet (PV15) is a soft purple hue. This is slightly granular, low-staining pigment and can be used to create delightful mottled washes.
Van Dyck Brown (Blend of PBr7) is a deep, dark brown made of siennas and umbers. Ideal for texturing and staining, this semi-transparent colour makes a good replacement for Sepia.
Pompeii Red (PBr7) is a dramatic rusty red-orange that is made from earth that has been heated to attain a burnt colour. This earth creates a granulated texture in the paint. This texture is wonderful for depicting sunlit hills or rough material folds. When mixed with Carmine a lovely vermillion with a slight pink undertone is produced.
Terre Ercolano (PBr7 PR101) is a natural bold brick red. This pigment is semi-transparent and lightfast. Try depicting the desert or red rocks with this earthy, granulating paint.
Phthalo Blue (Red Shade) (PB15) is a deep intense blue with a red undertone. This product is a wonderful tool for painting skies (a small daub of pigment will product will yield sufficient mixture to cover a large area) or for capturing transparent containers filled with water.
Verona Gold Ochre (PY150) is a golden yellow brown pigment. This paint is so called as its pigment is mined in the ancient Italian city. Verona Gold Ochre's unusual pigment gives it a surprising clarity and warmth for an earth colour.
English Red Earth (PR101) is, when at full strength, a similar colour to Burnt Sienna. This product can be made into a wash that has a warm pink-brown tint with a soft granulation.
Minnesota Pipestone is a warm, soft, earthy pink. This paint is semi-opaque, lightfast, and granulates beautifully in washes. Made from ground American pipestone and synthetic pigments, this product both honours history of the indigenous American people and speaks of the modern age.
Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Genuine is a soft yet vibrant blue that comes from the Sleeping Beauty Mountain in Arizona. Unlike other turquoise colours this pigment is lightfast, permanent and vivid. Try this product in a wash to create a beautiful granular texture.
Amazonite Genuine is a strong, pure, teal colour that is completely transparent and non-staining. The precious mineral pigment contained in this paint is sourced from Brazil and named after the Amazon river. |
