Apply pure, vibrant dry colour then wash the pigment out completely to leave an ink-like effect. Once dry, the colour is permanent and can be worked over with other media.
Each colour is made with high quality gum arabic and glycerin, linden honey, distilled water and pure pigments. Every pan is hand filled and labelled with watercolour paper. Colours are made in small batches that allow them to be carefully checked. Every batch is tested for performance qualities: vibrancy, flowing abilities, viscosity, colour value, transparency, granulation, undertone, tinting strength, clarity and particle size. For each colour, Roman Szmal select the perfect grind to match the particle size.
For many years artists have appreciated the qualities of the Langton. Made traditionally on a cylinder mould machine, it features a natural whiteness with a soft touch and distinctive texture. Langton watercolour paper is acid free with an alkali reserve to preserve finished pieces of work and protect against discolouration. Treated with an anti-fungal treatment, Langton watercolour paper also boasts a gelatinised surface for strength and resilience. Please note, these sheets have a rough finish. They have a textured surface, and are not suitable for painting in a detailed manner.
This high-quality, Italian watercolor paper is the perfect companion to our Watercolor Sets. This extra thick and absorbent paper makes painting with watercolors easy. Glue bound for easy removal of pages. It's time to paint your masterpiece!

MaimeriBlu features an absolute purity of pigments that, together with gum arabic, compose the totality of the mixture. Imperceptible, transparent, clean. No blending powders, and no additives. Nothing harmonises or synchronises the shift between the various shades. The real value lies in the transparency of its colours and in the freshness of its washes. It is the whiteness of the paper that illuminates this type of painting. The light is behind the colour.

Albrecht Dürer artists' watercolour pencils provide artists with great versatility of expression when drawing, shading and painting in watercolours. High-quality materials, combined with over 250 years of experience, have resulted in watercolour pencils that produce unsurpassed watercolour effects and vibrancy. The coloured surface can be transformed with only a few fine or broad brush strokes to reveal the full and unique power of the colours. Depending on the paper being used, the pigments can be completely dissolved, and will then behave in the same way as classic watercolour paints.

This superb artist grade paper from Saunders Waterford has a watermark in the corner for authenticity and 4 deckle edges which are visually beautiful and perfect for float framing. Please note that while Saunders Waterford High White papers are noticeably whiter than the traditional Saunders Waterford paper, they still have a pale cream appearance. This is because it is not currently possible to whiten the paper to a bright white without compromising light-fastness by using Optical Brightening Agents. The whiter shade of Saunders Waterford High White paper is achieved by adding a high white lightfast pigment with good long-life properties, as used in some watercolour paints. Artists grade watercolour paper is archival which means it will not discolour or fall apart over time. It is made of 100% cotton rag. This paper is much more durable than lower grades of paper because it is gelatine surface sized and it is mould-made, both of which mean it can take scrubbing of the surface without falling apart. Saunders Waterford paper is endorsed by the Royal Watercolour Society. Please note, these sheets have a rough finish: they have a rough surface, and are not suitable for detailed watercolour painting. Shin Han Pass takes its name from a subway or metro pass. Like a travel pass that allows access to unlimited modes of transportation, ShinHan Pass allows both transparent and opaque techniques to be realised within a single tube. A combination of watercolour and acrylic, ShinHan Pass also exhibits characteristics of gouache. A low amount of gum arabic and glycerin in this paint makes brush strokes more free and colours appear more saturated.
