Review This Product

Informative, impeccably researched and really quite funny

Mon, 17 Jun 2019 | Review by: Samir

Bettany Hughes Istanbul, A Tale of Three Cities is informative, accurate and impeccably researched with many first hand accounts woven into the fabric of the story. Despite the heavy subject matter (and histories are always tricky) this account is written in an easy to read and quite conversational style that is peppered with funny little anecdotes that helps the reader sail along the pages without being bogged down in the mundane details that often accompany histories. Very much worth reading for a great general overview of the history of the city and an ideal primer for further reading
