This book addresses key transformations in citizenship politics in
the EU, ember states. The contributors argue that the
anti-discrimination agenda set out in the Treaty of Amsterdam has
had an impact on traditional patterns of national integration of
ethnic minorities and migrants in Europe. Comparing transformations
in French and British politics of citizenship, the book focuses in
particular upon the religious dimension of discrimination and Islam
in Europe.
