Sociolinguistics is a branch of linguistics which studies the ways
in which language is integrated with human society, specifically,
with reference to such notions as race, ethnicity, class, sex, and
social institutions. This book presents current research in the
study of sociolinguistics from authors across the globe including
such topics as: language and human cognition; sequential
developments in sociolinguistic methodology; address term studies
in sociolinguistics; and the historical study of language and
society.
