This Civil War history of the Tenth Regiment, Vermont Volunteers,
follows the officers and men who served, from the time they went
into camp at Brattleboro and were mustered into the United States
service on September 1, 1862 to the fall of Richmond and their
triumphant return to Burlington, battle-scarred and war-weary, in
June of 1865. Of the one thousand and sixteen men who left in '62,
only 451 remained.
