Originally published in 1904, this book is the second of a
two-volume edition of the Curetonian manuscript, comprising the
four Gospels and the Sinaitic Palimpsest, all of which were written
in Syriac. This second volume contains a detailed introduction to
the manuscript and the text's relationship to later Syriac versions
of the same texts. Burkitt also includes patristic commentary on
the manuscript and the differences between it and the Diatessaron.
This book will be of value to anyone with an interest in the
transmission of the Christian Gospels or the history of the Syriac
church.
