First published in 1913, as the second edition of a 1910 original,
this book contains a series of extracts from French Romantic texts,
together with short introductory essays. Extracts were selected
with the intention of revealing the importance of Romanticism for
French literature at a time when the movement was being widely
denigrated. The texts are given in French and all other material is
presented in English. This book will be of value to anyone with an
interest in French literature and Romanticism.
