This collective volume deals with the reception and assimilation of
different forms of knowledge in Northern Italy in the 18th and
early 19th centuries. This knowledge originated in Germany, Austria
and France and was communicated through literature. The aim of this
book is to show the European significance of Northern Italy as hub
of cultural mediation and assimilation processes? a role which has
received little attention until now.
