This work combines the history of John's times, current
philosophical ideas, archaeological discoveries, and an
interpretation of the writings of John, together with a study of
John's development as a Christian man. It summarizes John's gospel
with helpful commentary and quotations from prominent and gifted
expositors. The explanation of the Gnostic heresy, which is
rejected in the epistles, makes a useful contribution to one's
understanding of the matters dealt with by John. John's last book,
Revelation, shows that Christ is Lord, not Caesar, and that Christ
is victorious, and so are they who are His. The study will be a
great help to those who read it.
