The year of his death in 1879 Joseph P. Thompson, pastor-scholar,
wrote this book at the request of the American Tract Society. The
grave dangers of Socialism and Communism were in the news around
the world, and ATS sought the help of Thompson to speak with a
passionate eloquence to these burning issues of the day. Once
again, in 2008, Socialism is threatening the American shores, and
there is no better time than now to hear what this man had to say
before he laid his pen aside and then fell asleep in Jesus. Every
Christian needs to consider the message of this book, but
especially those who earn their bread by diligent labor every week.
