First published in 1999. Family homelessness is one of the most
profound and disturbing social problems of the 1990's and will be
one of the most important issues facing the United States in the
twenty-first century. The main purpose of this study was to develop
a transitional program framework that can assist homeless women
with children to become self-sufficient. In order to create this
framework; this study identified current program areas and
components in transitional programs for homeless women with
children, including education and employment training components;
and determined which program areas and components of current
programs have a relationship to programs with successful outcomes.
