Lianas are climbing plants that produce true wood and that germinate on the ground but lose their ability to support to ascend to the canopy. Wayanad is a small hilly district in Kerala and constitute a major portion of Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. The area is rich in faunal diversity and abundance.
