The present study was carried out to focus the angiospermic flora
of Satchari National Park. The researcher identified a total of 247
species during his one year research period. These have been
assigned to 186 genera and 71 families. The families have been
arranged according to Cronquist's system of classification (1981).
The ethnobotanical data on 75 species were recorded during field
trips from the study area. The study found that the area is also
habitat for seven threatened species of Bangladesh. This study was
also carried out to identify the threats to present angiospermic
flora of the area. The possible conservation measures are suggested
for the proper maintenance of the flora of the area. From the
present preliminary survey it may be concluded that the Satchari
National Park is floristically moderately rich and the home for
many medicinal and threatened angiospermic species. To make
complete inventory of the area, further long term survey is
necessary.
