Originally published in 1942, the Rural Reconstruction Association
had been working on the rural problem in its various aspects for
several years. This republished volume represented the conclusions
reached in the face of the urgent problems of war and
reconstruction, and outlines a policy based on the widest interests
of the nation as a whole. The book contains chapters on policy in
the past and present, the post-war policy, and the opposition and
support to the policies outlined.
